A slick and clasy classic-like Pong game! Upgrades are a nice addition too, though it feels weird they only affect you even if the opponent hits them. Feels like they should apply to the one who gets them, not to where they are. Overall though, a fun game. Basic, but easy to replace.

I had that exact same thought somewhere in the development process. I just lost it somewhere :)

EDIT: just got a PM from Cyberdevil: he made a typo => replace -> replay.
Thx for that!

A really slick and elaborate fighting game, with an unconventional mixture of characters! Great music, great graphics, tons of options, it's really great all the way through. Just hope you don't run into any copyright issues! Tons of fun.

The Canon ending on the first try! :D I liked this game, apart from the impressively professional graphics (especially the interfaces and text), it feels like a fresh start to the whole Chaos universe... but I guess it's all connected? The golden rocket medals, are they a thing of the past now, or just not in this series? It does make you focus more on the game when there are no hidden background elements you're looking to click. The story all seems very familiar, but presented in a more dramatic way than earlier, and the music matches the mood nicely. Looking forward to Chapter 2!

Thanks! Yeah I decided to ditch the Golden Astronaut thingies, for now at least :B

Mmm I thought Hardcore would be a bonus, but having that uinlock on level 9 was a pretty harsh twist, especially with that kind of final level! I was hoping it'd be the other way, that after going through all nine levels again the final one would be basically no level at all, just open space - as easy a piece of cake as the main menu. When you get that far, and go through each level twice, it's pretty aggravating to realize you won't be making it to the end of the game after all. I love the game design, idea, level variation and everything, but I feel cheated. Hardcore mode seemed challenging enough as it was. Doesn't take that long to go through all levels so if it was a challenging final level that'd be fine, but going through all levels twice, for that? IMO the ideal would've been hardcore mode unlocking specifically for the final level, and the final level being a bit less impossible to beat. With balanced difficulty, I'd have loved this game. Everything else is perfect. Ambient music, good control, smooth graphics, a ton of fun to play until the ending.

Truth. To date are 1,000 plays and only Draukagrissa3 won the challenge Hard Mode.
Then I add a new version.

I do like these contemplative shorts of yours. The narration was nicely done, and the script both cryptic and poetic, a wisp of spirituality, but the meaning vague and fleeting, open to interpretations of your own. The movement was a bit hacky for me, which I'm not sure it should've been? Feels like that might've been lag, since it lagged a bunch while ridding the way of obstacles and clicking around. Would've been nice with the 'toggle quality' option on the menu (or a shortcut key for it). Overall though, a nice little gem!

JackAstral responds:

Thanks, that means a lot. I'll add in a quality toggle in the next patch :-)

A pretty fun arcade game, easy to replay and get into, though for any game that doesn't have an end, it feels like highscores are a necessary incentive for you to really keep going, and try again and again. Also seems like that medal isn't working yet..? Overall it looks good, and I like that battle music!

Hi,

I'm really glad you're enjoying my game ! I'm actually working on adding a shield (and I'm having some troubles for some reason EDIT : I JUST FIGURED OUT !) and some medals, the one you see here was a test, I should delete it for now. I'm also planning to add an highscore board on Newgrounds, so it'll hopefully keep people playing longer to the game.

It sure took a while to reach Teal. :) This was a really addicting game, with slick graphics and easy gameplay that grows challenging just by the test of perseverence... or do the balloons slowly speed up? If they do, it's so gradual I can't tell if it's my reactions dimming or the game speeding up. I had a blast with it though, but one major thing that seems to be missing: highscores!! It's just not the same incentive without those (though the medals keep you hooked till a certain point). And a working save feature: once you quit the game it seems you're back at the beginning again? My general impression's great though, an hour into the game it's still as fun as when I started, though at this point there doesn't seem to be much more to strive to reach, even if it keeps going and there are ranks you can still climb. Oh, one more feature that'd be nice to have: a keyboard shortcut to pause the game, like P, since even simple things like clicking the pause button can be a major distraction when you're in the middle of the action. :) Good game!

Hey dude! Really cool review!

1. Yep! The game gradually speeds up as you level up so it will be going quicker and quicker until you reach the maximum rank! :D
2. As for highscores, unfortunately, the API with Construct 2, doesn't seem to yet have any way of establishing a high-score, unless I used some sort of my own server, and I'm really bad at network/server stuff haha. :D Unfortunately there's really nothing I can do until the API is updated or something. :D
3. Save feature should work if you hit Load from the main menu! If it doesn't, there's probably some glitch with Newgrounds processing it properly... If it keeps getting glitched then I'll definitely look into it!
4. Good point regarding the pause button shortcut! Will be adding it in today's update!

And really really really super duper thank you for making it up to the Teal Balloon. :D It really means a lot to me! <3

That game overscreen was surprisingly rewarding! ;) I was thinking I might to pull off a flip to get that medal, but anyway, this was a good game. Levels are a bit basic (no obstacles, or things you can really interact with apart from the background layer), and short, and the concept isn't the newest either, but it was fun! Having a car instead of the regular dirtbike was a nice change too. Quick, somewhat challenging; entertaining car game. Not bad.
