Gotta love the super mario sound effects when you die! Amongst other things. The controls are easy to grasp, and the combination of games worked way better than I expected, just wandering around and seeing how the SMB universe will surprise Goku makes the adventure a rewarding process. It's a fun venture, with a good plot to back it up (though the cutscene dialogs are probably the only thing that doesn't look very professional, odd color combo). Haven't played this to the end, but I will; will keep an eye out for the next one! One thing I'd love to see in this game are medals though, at least just the one for completing the whole thing. It'd be irrefutable evidence of success. :) Keep it going!

Thank you,

And I'd love to add medals to the game, but I don't really know how to do that. I have read some of it in the information tab of Newgrounds, but I could not understand it. If anyone has any ideas how to add medals, send me a private message and maybe it will be in the next episode.

I will gladly appreciate it.

I'd be surprised if anyone ever does make it onto that list! Though with an HTML5 game it shouldn't be impossible for users to fabricate such an image... hope no one goes to such extent though. :P As you say this is probably definitely the hardest Asteroids game out there. With the increase of screen size and asteroids few and far between, I was thinking you might have simplified it a bit... but shooting around a bit certainly changed that perception! I wonder how the new greed system works, could it be that it generates a larger amount of debris the more you shoot? If so, there might be some strategy to this after all. I gave up pretty quickly, but the idea is good, and I like the Pause screen on this one. Keep it going!

That's why I requested a full screenshot in the footnote. You can't cheat on the newgrounds page, as the game is put in a sandbox (a frame), so you have to go into the devtools and open the standalone game, which has a white background, and would obviously lead to suspicion. Furthermore, with the taskbar visible, they wouldn't be able to hide programs like Cheat Engine. There's only one way to cheat, and that's something that an intermediate/expert linux user would know, so I'm probably going to auto-disqualify Screenshots in linux, and require that a screen recording is made of the game being beaten.

The greed system works the same as it did since I made the initial jsfiddle demo: shoot rapidly without discretion -> you risk shooting the large asteroid multiple times -> it breaks into a million pieces -> you're boned

I just used "greed system" as a word to explain how I balanced the rapid fire. So basically the strategy is to slowly and methodically take out one asteroid at a time, which will take forever.

Anyways, thanks for the feedback, Cyberd. You're always honest :)

Great game! I love the idea, the interface, the way you interact... it's all really slick and graphical. The fact that I'm not a native speaker and somehow grouping certain themes of words was a more challenging event than I thought it'd be is just good, great practice and fun; most of them were simple enough. It seems like the themes I don't know enough about are plants and edibles, but either way, great work! All this is missing are medals! :)

Medals have been added!

A refreshingly crazy game! I was wondering if it'd really become addicting after the tutorial, but it turns out there's plenty of variation to await, and challenge as you move forwards. Slicing up enemies is fun, though it seems they never actually die. I was wondering how points were collected at first, if you needed to catch the candy or just get people to drop it, maybe explain that in the tutorial? It's a fun game, with tons of levels (it appears, still in area 1), upgrades and entertainment. It's nice how the voice acting differs for different characters, and all the costumes are pretty elaborately made. Also, really cool title screen. Keep it going!

Thank you sir

Woo, just like Space Gypsy! Only the enemy doesn't attack. This is a good game, but it feels like it could use some more work. Like: levels, more variation on enemies, their patterns; attacks... and how about some medals to top it off? Keep it going!

In the original version the enemies shot, but it took up too much data and sadly was unplayable
v2 will definitely feature everything you have mentioned. The feedback is much appreciated my fine fellow.

This is pretty awesome, probably would be the best Rock Out entry I've played so far... if it wasn't for those controls. Why the spacebar? It would be so easy if you could just tap the keys to set off the traps, instead of using a combination. I'm all for simplicity! The introduction was a bit long too, but entertaining at the same time (wouldv'e been nice with a Skip option though). I like the zombie idea. Compared to other music games like this, they're the big difference. It's not just a sleek and visual interface with good music, there's a plot; some gore too. Nice idea, but it could be easier to play (doesn't mean it shouldn't still be challenging)!

This was back when Guitar Hero was at the height of its popularity, which is why it's got the Guitar Hero style controls.

BUT - If you don't like them, you don't have to use them. Go to "Settings" on the main menu and turn on "DDR Mode" for instant gratification.

Also, use the "Skip to Tutorial" and "Skip to Game" buttons in the corner of the screen to skip the intro and tutorial, respectively.

Thanks for playing!

Nice idea making a customization game out of Madness! I think I've seen it done before some years ago, but not with these many customization options. The graphics are all good, traditional madness style, but the variation is... endless! Any count on how many items and/or frames this contains? Nice work!

Yea, the random button has a counter :P
Thanks and have fun!

Awesome work on this really airy and atmospheric game! There's a plot, there are sleek menus, and addicting gameplay for a rather unique idea. Perfect balance between strategy, response time and arcade. Keep it going!

Thankyou!! I have just recently come back from about 6 years away from NG! And I see so many reviews that make me want to get back into games and animations.

It is good to be back.
Thanks cyberdevil!

Woah, what a trippy idea for a game! I've played plenty of puzzles... but with Optical Illusions! This has got to be the first. As a puzzle it's fun, and with the optical illusions it has an added aspect of... wonder. Great idea!

Thanks Cyberdevil for your great comment!

Well that went quickly from beta stages to publishing. :) With the splash screens, it would've been cool with a more graphical image, a layout, background or accompanying game art aside from just the text. The game itself plays smoothly, and it's not so difficult to get a high score... at least not until the score starts climbing. Shame there's no sound, or medals, or highscores (and that they're not possible to implement yet) since they would all have made this a much more addicting and rewarding experience. But, for what it is it's flawless, a simple snake game with a couple of unique bonus features. Really great for a first game too, keep it up!

B1KMusic responds:

Oh, okay. It's in, now :)

I added it into the game by taking a screenshot of the game on pause (via canvas.toDataURL()), and using the drawImage() function to draw the screenshot underneath the pause graphic.

Thanks for your honest review and feedback, Cyberdevil :)
