A refreshingly crazy game! I was wondering if it'd really become addicting after the tutorial, but it turns out there's plenty of variation to await, and challenge as you move forwards. Slicing up enemies is fun, though it seems they never actually die. I was wondering how points were collected at first, if you needed to catch the candy or just get people to drop it, maybe explain that in the tutorial? It's a fun game, with tons of levels (it appears, still in area 1), upgrades and entertainment. It's nice how the voice acting differs for different characters, and all the costumes are pretty elaborately made. Also, really cool title screen. Keep it going!

Thank you sir

This is pretty awesome, probably would be the best Rock Out entry I've played so far... if it wasn't for those controls. Why the spacebar? It would be so easy if you could just tap the keys to set off the traps, instead of using a combination. I'm all for simplicity! The introduction was a bit long too, but entertaining at the same time (wouldv'e been nice with a Skip option though). I like the zombie idea. Compared to other music games like this, they're the big difference. It's not just a sleek and visual interface with good music, there's a plot; some gore too. Nice idea, but it could be easier to play (doesn't mean it shouldn't still be challenging)!

This was back when Guitar Hero was at the height of its popularity, which is why it's got the Guitar Hero style controls.

BUT - If you don't like them, you don't have to use them. Go to "Settings" on the main menu and turn on "DDR Mode" for instant gratification.

Also, use the "Skip to Tutorial" and "Skip to Game" buttons in the corner of the screen to skip the intro and tutorial, respectively.

Thanks for playing!

Nice idea making a customization game out of Madness! I think I've seen it done before some years ago, but not with these many customization options. The graphics are all good, traditional madness style, but the variation is... endless! Any count on how many items and/or frames this contains? Nice work!

Yea, the random button has a counter :P
Thanks and have fun!

Awesome work on this really airy and atmospheric game! There's a plot, there are sleek menus, and addicting gameplay for a rather unique idea. Perfect balance between strategy, response time and arcade. Keep it going!

Thankyou!! I have just recently come back from about 6 years away from NG! And I see so many reviews that make me want to get back into games and animations.

It is good to be back.
Thanks cyberdevil!

Woah, what a trippy idea for a game! I've played plenty of puzzles... but with Optical Illusions! This has got to be the first. As a puzzle it's fun, and with the optical illusions it has an added aspect of... wonder. Great idea!

Thanks Cyberdevil for your great comment!

Well that went quickly from beta stages to publishing. :) With the splash screens, it would've been cool with a more graphical image, a layout, background or accompanying game art aside from just the text. The game itself plays smoothly, and it's not so difficult to get a high score... at least not until the score starts climbing. Shame there's no sound, or medals, or highscores (and that they're not possible to implement yet) since they would all have made this a much more addicting and rewarding experience. But, for what it is it's flawless, a simple snake game with a couple of unique bonus features. Really great for a first game too, keep it up!

Oh, okay. It's in, now :)

I added it into the game by taking a screenshot of the game on pause (via canvas.toDataURL()), and using the drawImage() function to draw the screenshot underneath the pause graphic.

Thanks for your honest review and feedback, Cyberdevil :)

Never thought I'd have this much fun farting. Great idea for a game (is the entire game idea based on that Prodigy track or just the title?) and plenty of rewards to keep you going. The 'And this is why there is no air on Mars' finalé is the icing on the cake. Regular mode was fun, and garlic mode was even more so. Going though the levels a second time around it felt as if they weren't that hard after all, but collecting the stars on level 29... oh man, that was one aggravating level! Love the humor, easter eggs and freshly random graphics. It's cool how the garlic mode doesn't just add extra collectibles but also a new challenge: keep the gas build-up under control. Great everything!

whileworking responds:

Glad you liked it. Well, the game idea isn't really based on the track but the game wouldn't be here without that marvelous wordplay!

Whether normal or garlic mode... level 29 is a PITA :D

The gameplay itself is great, but the interface could use some graphics! It doesn't look very professional from the start. Also, when you exit the screen it's not clear that you're not really coming back until the snake goes completely off the screen, and the textfield for the score isn't wide enough to fit any score above xx,xxx. Could use some improving, but it's a good start!

I gave a little leeway on the borders so the worm could turn without much frustration. Look out for the next version which will have a wrapping playing field and many things to make it look less...lazy. Thanks.

Awesome game, a female heroine for oddity (at least it seems most action platformers don't have one), great graphics, controls that are easy to grasp, vast futuristic cityscapes spanning the background, plenty of moves and variation once you get into the game, upgrades... it has pretty much everything you could ask from a game like this. All it's missing is: medals! Would be awesome if you could add some of those, maybe one for each level, one for certain upgrades, easter eggs if there are any,... that would add a lot to the reward factor. Keep it going!
