This was a pretty atmospheric place!! Feels like I've seen some of these sceneries before... maybe one of your former games? Or maybe they just seem similar. I love the way each room is angled in a way that seem to make it seem all the more dystopian. The clues are all cleverly hidden, and the ghost was a nice touch at the end. Very nice!

Thanks!

Simple; fun game! I'm thinking an upgrade option to let the candy stay on the ground longer would've been neat, and maybe some power-ups to enhance the free-play mode, like items to slow down time, double your score for a short while, extra lives, etc. It is fun but it's also pretty basic, not much variation in what you collect or how you do it. Anyway, thanks for the medals; Merry Christmas!

I'm thinking about making a sequel (not Christmas related though) with a lot more features to make the game more entertaining. This was very basic, I know, but it was like some kind of "test" to see if people liked it and thus make a "2.0" version of this game. Thanks for the ideas to improve the replay value :)
And merry Christmas!

29/66 collected! Would be cool with an automatic high score table. Was pretty hard keeping up with the trash in the latter levels, specially when you move so slow. Also wish there was a way to move that poster around, usually I placed it in one place and suddenly the people all move in new ways. And there's that 'bug' (intended feature? :P) where people get stuck in bushes. Interface text feels a bit inconsistent - different colors, contrasting fonts etc, overall it feels like a game that could use some polishing, to make both gameplay work better, look better and feel more rewarding, but I like the idea! And it was a reasonable selection of levels too so didn't take too long to get through. Simple fun, albeit a bit messy, keep it going!

yeah that guy going in the bush is a correctable bug but it makes the game even slower so we did not remove the bug. sorry but thanks for helping

So I reached the 'jump your brain out' level, and I jumped to the left and right out of the picture, down and down and off the screen, and nothing happened. :/ Up till that point it was an interesting venture though, a collage of imagery and at fir4st inspiring words that overtime seemed to turn monotone and meaningless. I liked the score level, the high jumps, the places that felt like progress, the explosions and the gongggg sound effects (what impact!), not so much the slow walks and falls. But it was an interesting voyage till the end I reached! And if you somehow do fall of the screen it seems you can at least right click, get something in the middle, go back a few levels and right click your way back to the final fall. Interesting work!

Yeah....sadly that glitch seems to be catching heaps of other players. It is certainly something I need to fix. And I agree with you about the score level, it really is my favorite. Glad you found the work interesting!

Finally found that final article of interest! :D Overall this turned out a pretty awesome collab, with plenty of inspiring artistry and some scrutinous searching for clues along with the views. Feels like I've memorized all the art by now. Controls; interface was great, music nice and Christmassy, and the easter egg's an appreciated reward when it's all. Merry Illuminatimas!

Thanks CD. I think I can remember most of the references now from continuous play-testing (minus the ones that were originally overlooked! :( )

Sorry I dropped your double-X reference, btw. It was a last minute drop because I realised there was a few XX ones about, mostly accidental, so I removed it to keep things simple. But hopefully it all works out and I find your card has one of the most striking designs.

Have a merry Christmas!

This was a pretty cool game, short and sweet, each level a new stage and difficulty and boss at the end, just like the old days! :D Found the mountain climbing (where lower parts of the level disappear as you go) pretty hard at first, and thought I was stuck on the 3d boss for good, but it's all beatable with a little perseverance, and with just the right amount of aggravation it just becomes all the more rewarding when you beat it! Compared to the third boss the fourth seemed easy too, which feels like a rewarding finish. Credits end a bit abruptly after that, though. The graphics... are they the same as the full game, with a little bit of filtering to get that awesome GB effect? Great game!

Awesome review! I'm glad ye enjoyed playing it! Sorry about boss 3 being a bit of a pain, I wasn't sure to dumb him down a wee bit. They're edited, (or some are just totally new,) to fit the game boy screen. Like the sprites are all new, same with most of the tiles. Yeah, sorry about the ending, I was a little rushed for time, but I guess it's somewhat like the ol' days.

Again, glad ye liked the game!

Starts off easy, gets hard pretty quick when even the controls don't work the way you expect them too! Idea's nice, and the audio's working fine for me (on FF) though that's the sounds, if there is background music I might be missing something. Would be cool with a list of highscores here, or medals, keep it going!

Yeah, the sound problems might just be on my PC. Thanks for the review!

That talking skull Yendor is just full of answers! :D I like the mood in this game. Dark, ambient, uncertain... but still humorous. You start out not knowing who you are or what to do, slowly enter the world; slowly get somewhere, faster than you'd expect after the slow introduction, the slow walking animation... but there's always some dialog or scenery to savor, even if some of it's veiled by darkness. The controls are dead simple, and the story hooks you in soon enough. It's just full of Why's, and you want to know the answers... and the less you get to know, the more you want to figure out. :) It's a great game!

Pizzamakesgames responds:

I won't tell but there might be some answers in the sequel. maybe. or just more questions. ;) Thank you very much for the comment!

Well this was different! I get an initial impression of clean crispy pixel graphics and an evolved type of chiptune music, but once the game kicks in I get much more than. There's a subtle humor in things like the giant monster colliding with the ship while the little spaceman's enjoy the morning newspaper (in space... a newspaper...) and the little chimp Chip moving from his in-level prison to the on-screen interface to help out with controls.

Overall it's just a superbly creative voyage through a space station where all is not as it seems, and interesting things keep occurring. The level designs are both clever and nice to look at, the transitions remind me a bit of Metroid, the controls feel flawless, not too fast and not too hard to control... hard to find flaws, but easy to be entertained with a game like this. Nice work!
