A pretty awesome mesh of good-looking gaming artistry! I like the options of presentations too, and the medals... wish those medals would've worked! Would have been cool. Shouldn't be too hard. The character Easter eggs on the main and menu screens btw, what a twist. XD Great stuff.

Yeah man, I'm hoping to do another one even bigger and better than this one maybe for for 2020

The functionality's working alright, but the glitches are everywhere! From the start, having to click the edges to take focus and be able to move the player is one pretty big bug - and this repeats itself later on in the game too. How the character bounces off walls seems to make him get stuck sometimes, but also makes it so you sometimes accidentally run into an obstacle, or fall into a hole you were trying to avoid. Seems the player animation glitches too a bit between standing still and moving, though hopefully that doesn't affect hit area.

The speech bubbles were kinda hard to read, and graphic simple at best. Since you're looking at the main character all the time it'd be nice with a nicer main character to look at, for one. :) Things like the gigantic TVs are fun details though. I think the typography (not the most readable font, size or placement) is what bugs me the most, since that's such an important element, as well as the buggy controls. Also since the game is seem from an angled top down view i wasn't expecting the player to fall down a whole even if you walked beside it, but it seems you can't even touch it... that (maybe final) level of the obstacle course was pretty intense!

I feel like this could be a lot of fun if the controls and interface were just a bit smoother. The pace of movement is perfect, but the bounce when you run into things annoying, feels the slowing down could be 'quicker' somehow. Hope you keep polishing it a bit! Great start, just a little annoying to play with the bugs, getting stuck in walls, freezing, such things.

Hi, CD, thanks for playing my game!

Yeah, this is the first one I've made and honestly my focus was more on the story and pacing because I thought that was more interesting to me, but I understand that for a game the smoothness of the gameplay is probably more important.

Most of how I made it involved default settings for the software I was using, and I had to have a friend of mine fix a lot of glitches before uploading. There used to be a lot more issues with animation causing you to get stuck and glitch, and while we fixed a lot I'm aware it's still not perfect.

As for the art style, all the art is quite shamelessly the easiest I could just get out. In fact, I had no idea I would eventually call it "CaveChild" until I designed the main character and realized he looked relatively primitive lol. I am by no means an artist, and just wanted to make all the art assets as quickly as I could.

I can see how the holes in the final two levels of Smash's house can be deceptively easy to fall into, especially since they're just black squares placed over the map. Perhaps I can come up with a different solution for how they look or abandon them altogether.

Thanks again for playing!

Reminds me of the old days of Sim Ant. :) It's a fun little clicker, though when you've clicked all... what then? Seems there could be more!

Thank you for your opinion

i Work all day and add a pair of toys

there is a problem the turrets attack in the order that the ants are placed

have fun :D !!

I miss the days when these games had multiple medals. :) A fun little adventure though! Good interface, good clues... not too long and not too short. Good balance as always. Good fun.

Thanks!

Ran into an error fetching the scores, but other than that this was a pretty solid clicker! Both addicting and monotone after a while though, so the timer feels like just the right amount of time to click. Smooth design; easy functionality. Fun idea too, though more incentive would be nice. Medals. An official highscore table, maybe...

Thanks for the comments and suggestions! I'll check and fix the scoring system.

The nostalgia! :D This game reminds me so much of The Zone, which I played to death maybe a decade ago. Wonder if there's any inspiration there? The controls weren't quite as smooth, and catching the gems a bit of a challenge, but when you start upgrading and blowing everyone to bits a bit easier they're suddenly in good surplus and everything's just a ton of fun. Part of me wishes there was a finite amount of enemy ships so you could really blast them all and attain a conclusive victory, but the idea with the border, blasting away at the cornerstones while being bombarded by enemies... it's pretty neat. Great game.

Thanks for the review Cyberdevil. I've never played The Zone before, but this game definitely draws some inspiration from old school games like Operation: Inner Space. Like you, I also played that game to death over 15 years ago.

Creating this game was a learning experience for me more than anything else (being the 2nd game I've ever created), but I definitely gained inspiration from these old school games that brought so much joy to me back in the day. Admittedly the controls and physics aren't as smooth, and really take some getting use to; hopefully I can nail it down in any future games.

Appreciate the feedback!

I really liked this one! :D Simple idea, but so addicting. Creative fun. I'm thinking multipliers based on how many you get in a row, and slightly different values depending on the color on the stars would've been nice, as well as maybe extra points whenever you bash something, would've made it a lot more varied/interesting/unpredictable. Ability to steer via keyboard would've been good too. But otherwise gameplay's easy to get into, and it plays well! Awesome game.

I like the game, but it seems pretty riddled with bugs at this point! For starters the lag builds up easily, making it difficult to survive even the easy attacks. Some doors it seems you can pass through at random, and others not... I reached the edge of the map a few times and walked into the darkness, and then back, and couldn't get past the doorway again. This more than once. The weapon seems to switch randomly sometimes when you're loading, trying to shoot, and being attacked by a zombie. After gameplay sometimes the Play button doesn't appear, and none of the other buttons work. The medals only seem to apply for the current game session even though they refer to a Total. There doesn't seem to be any handicap for just letting zombies run past you if you can evade their attack. They just disappear at the edge of the screen.

I think it has potential, but pretty buggy! Graphics, weapons, etc looks great otherwise. Just need to polish up the gameplay, and if possible make it lighter on system resources (which really should be possible with Flash, don't know why it lags as it does). Keep up the good work!

True, as I am running through the debug mode, nothing seems off wrong! Which makes a lot of confusion to me, however, I'll wrap my head over it, i'll update it as soon!

Smooth, simple fun! :D Would love some medals to merit higher goals (highscores are nice but those are the real measure of accomplishment IMO), but otherwise real nice.

Thanks, glad you liked it!

Not bad for a first game! The mechanics are alright, though would look a lot better if the character moved when he moved, and being able to jump out of the roof (and die) is a bit annoying on one part. Also no end! :/ You did say so in the description, but could have at least a finish line graphic... something saying You Win when you reach the end. It's a start...

I used a base in stencyl to make this, and added a bit to the end of the level, if i left it the same then it would have been a lot shorter, so in otherwords this game is finished, and i'm not going to work on 1000 width of a game when I actually am alreaddy working on a game with RPG Maker XP, this is just a short little thing I did to pass the time as I wait for the assests I need for my game, and adding a you win thing would actually take a lot of effort, believe it or not making flash games is hardr then actual games with things like rpg maker xp.
