You're the professional percussion glider Quarl! High sky survivor trier, deep diving flier with a mind for dubstep subgets!

The dubstep part of this really came in late, but I could listen to that piano all day, ambient in a strange and uplifting kind of way. Dig it. Solid beat too. Never mind a genre.

Quarl responds:

Nice rhymes Devil. Those piano melodies are just major arpeggios I've been rolling up and down on my piano. G flat major arpeggio, then a half step down into an F major. Nothing fancy but basics have a timelessness that just sound right :D

Somehow the title just describes it perfectly... though I never would've imagined techno could sound like this...

Fantishow responds:

Yea, idk if ‘techno’ is entirely accurate, but it was the closest fit

The DOOM + Mario 64 thing had me imagining the DOOM bit would be a bit more like the DOOM 64 soundtrack. :) Seems it's the intro from the new ones though... but I do love it. Eerie, shrieky, ferocious, steady, strange and wholesome... feels like this could be used for pretty much anything.

Nice homage to those classics too.

TeraVex responds:

I’m glad you enjoyed it! I should’ve clarified on the Doom statement considering that Dooms older OSTs are more known generally; thank you for the review!

You've reaaaaaly made a lot of these huh! Interesting sound with this one, VG-like with some kind of strange twist, tango maybe... I like the style.

Ive made a good number, yeah. A lot of them aren't good though. I only post the ones that I can listen to months after I've made it.

Wonder who was who in them verses hmm! Some weren't bad.

And the souljaboy incentive! Imagine if he actually jumps back in and writes a review on this...

1st and last verses were mine
2nd was thriftman
3rd was Wanda
4th was kawaisprite

Fast-paced and ferocious! Sounds good. Percussion, guitar, it's got a slight build to it too. Not sure it loops perfectly but definitely handy to have.

Adiach responds:

Trust me, it loops right. Put it in an audio editing software and play it twice back to back. I'd love to see if you use this in the future!

A little bit of kindness and a bigger bit of drive! Maybe when you're working with soothing ambient dnb like this is when you can really muster up the energy and resolve to bypass any roadblocks in yer way. Potential musical formula for progress.

Really loved the first half of the bit, but it kinda went monotone/a bit less sparkly for a while after that. Still plenty fueling. Nice work.

I want to get that final half star devil, you're killing me! I feel you on the crit. I had no idea what to do with this after that intro. I slugged out the track like a sad kitten :/

Entertaining tales of retail work! Good listen, though missing some kind of end game highlight type thing, it just cuts off a bit quick when time's up there. Also not be keep being picky about the volume but: feels like the levels switched around with this one. Dom way distant and Fro in the foreground instead... maybe how you perceive the levels when the frequency ranges are so different really has a lot to do with hardware too though, headphones or speakers, frequency output, probably trickier to adjust so it sounds good for all than if both recording sources were the same... hope you perfect the balance overtime anyhow.

Curious if you adjust this stuff only in advance btw, or when you mix together the audio after? Both recordings on the same layer or synced together with a starting clap or similar (would probably be easier to get a balance if they're separate if that's not how you do this already)?

Looking forward to that upcoming interview too.

DomAndFroShow responds:

We are recording on 2 very different mics, 3,000 miles away from each over over a chat program. I think I'll ask an audio expert to equalize these for me before I edit it next time. I can adjust the volume, but to be honest the speakers are broken on my super old laptop and I hear mostly static.

This one does seem to cut out because it was meant to only be half of an episode with an interview in the 2nd half. It went so long that I had to seperate it from the full episode. Even the outro was an after effect.

I noticed that it ended abruptly, but I just wanted to chalk this one up to lessons learned and move onto the next one where I could spend more time working on the issues.

Can dig this. :) Might be slow but what a flow... enjoying. You don't seem too many DK sounding rap beats around these parts...
