What a strange turn it took towards the ambient end. Starts off upbeat and jumpy, just like you'd expect music of the genre to be but then... it almost moves into something different entirely. More like jazz than VG music. More like a train ride than a brawler. More like... I don't know what. Cool contrast though, and the transition doesn't leave you hanging or hiccuping either, it's all so smooth...

Maybe it would be cool if the first theme comes again, like GoodL mentions, but I like this too. Fades away in a good way. Happy Pixels, Happy 2020! Uplifting stuff.

Albe responds:

Thank you so much!!
Yeah as I said to GoodL, there's a lot of ideas I wanted to put in less than a day cuz I had no time, so it's all messy and random. In future songs I'd like to be more organized with all this stuff, but I'm super glad you still liked it!

Always has a Christmas-like jingle to it before the synth really starts coming in. :) Not bad.

Oh no, not my old crap! hahaha. Thanks for the review!

The style's a bit different, but the atmosphere overall really reminds me of the classic DOOM tracks. Walking through the barren lands of Deimos, shores of hell, all those mysterious and infernal grounds... really cool vibe. In difference from GB I feel like the repetition really adds to it, and helps it build... it's captivating that way, and not too slow to feel dull. Like a journey. Like a challenge. Like a strange place...

Really cool.

I just watched the new DOOM movie on Netflix last night. It was fun, but pretty "meh"

This review, on the other hand, is stellar. I had to read this out loud to a few folks, because hell yea...you picked up what I was putting down.

This wasn't bad, man! I love the echo effect on the background voices, in the beginning especially, and the main synth melody that joins in every once in a while, climbing up and down; reminding me of old 8bit boss battles... the build up's good, the pace is rythmic and easy to vibe to, the main phrase is catchy too... I might have the wrong impression of trap music, but I always considered it more of a structure of rap than of dance/trance music, which this seems to be. But not bad. Good melody, good variation; thorough quality.

GameBalance responds:

Well. I could not think of category to label it other than trap. It also can be described as alternative or indie electronic I guess.

Jazzy, a little melancholy, a little upbeat... the emotions really mash together in this one. Nice work.

Rekuiem responds:

thank you so much, I forget sometimes the value of the stuff from a time when I just wished I could get what was in my mind out more clearly. Hearing that it is appreciated means so much to me.

Man those parts with the sound effects mixed in. XD This is awesome. Curious what filters you use on this? Just a shift of pitch or more than that? This isn't your actual low voice voice is it?

-cd-

Syrupmasterz responds:

Mainly just pitch shifting my voice down, I actually had to yell for that long. :P
My voice is very high pitched in comparison to the deep voice. haha

Intro like the jukebox is just bout to get turned on and then... hell yeah! :D It really gets turnt up. Rock, bluegrass, jazz, Christmas music? Don't know what to class this as. Funky hybrid stuff, with a catchy but just a little somewhat too jumpy tune IMO. You never really get settled in.

Seems like something that'd fit perfectly with some animation though, pauses, shifts, all that stuff.

Thanks so much and sorry it's taken me a while to respond, but I appreciate the review and kind words!
