What does this all meaaan! XD

Politics are gay? Debates are gay? One of the contenders is gay? The spokesperson is gay? All of the above? And wait are you implying there's anything negative about being gay? Or more so that it's awesome, just like the final explosion on which said (potential) slur is appended? Or an explosion of gay? Or explosions are gay...? O_o

This is some deep, controversial, unconventional, mind-blowing political satire right here, whatever it's all about... subtle ode to the earlier Free The Nipple campaign maybe...? Or maybe it's meant to mirror the nonsensicalness of the common political debate...?

I know I'm probably putting more meaning into this than there probably is, but that just makes it all the more awesome! Relevant debate-related awesomeness that pushes through both borders and expectations and entertains way more than the actual thing: Awesome.

If all politics were just a bit more like this...

bro how was your trip to your hometown you should tell me all about it!

Seems like there's just no limit to the amount of content you can put out in a single year! :D This was great, gets me wondering about potential backstories but I assume there is none... also can't remember the last time I saw Wade make a cameo! Props.

Also that GIF is oddly addicting to follow. Patting, attempting to grab, scratching or eh... pleasuring the book? This could mean such a variety of different things. And is the hand the book hand or a totally unrelated hand...

Swedish Funko Pop Sgt Johnson?! XD Wonder what the history is behind that guy, but I love it. Stands apart from the rest too, one grand cameo finale before it's all wiped clean.

The head getting sucked into the floor was really smoothly done, though on some parts it feels like the camera could really use something to hold it a bit more steady between shots, and some of the still sequences feel a bit long, maybe you could work on ambience even when things are still? Just moving the characters ever so slightly to give the impression they're still alive even though they don't move. Could loop just a few almost identical shots to give the impression.

Overall it really had a pretty moody/artsy vibe to it, and the roles of human and animal reversed... I like it. Makes you think a bit. Thanks for throwing in a part for me in this too!

I want to thank you for helping me make a film and believing and being respectful . i also do agree with your opinion. thank you for being cool :)

Appreciate the pun but honestly the plot device otherwise seems to overshadow it a bit, both the one getting thrown at the monster, and the other one first hurting it, and then the bird coming out of nowhere... you're left wondering what this was really all about after all. What happen.

Assuming people who know the game might not be distracted by those seemingly random occurrences as much though; they may not be all that random after all...

It's definitely something made where the jokes make more sense if you've played Pikmin, which isn't necessarily the best thing to do always, but I try to make it funny in other ways too, like just wtih facial expressions, and sound effects, and wacky animation.

As for an explanation: in the game, Purple Pikmin are super heavy, and can one hit kill big enemies if hit right, so while the other Pikmin are cowering in fear, he decides to throw his body weight onto the bulborb (big frog thing), but instead of just landing on him and squishing him or whatever, I thought it would be funny for him to shatter his fucking knee.

And then white Pikmin are smaller and lighter than the other Pikmin, but they're also poisonous (this is the biggest detail that isn't immediately apparent I guess), so when the red Pikmin saw that the bulborb was still alive, he through the white Pikmin at him, hoping he would eat it and die of poison, not realizing he was in too much pain to even notice.

And finally, the random bird is a snagret, an enemy that will seemingly randomly pop out of the ground (it's not actually random, but if you don't know where they are in the game, it can seem like it) and of course, it ate the white pikmin, which is poisonous, so it died of poison. That bit probably was more random than anything, but it was also an idea I came up with on the spot, after storyboarding the rest of the cartoon, 'cause I wasn't satisfied with it ending with the white pikmin screaming "you frickin frick!!!!!". I used to hate random humor, but the ending is my favorite bit so I guess I like it now??? though it's mostly because the shot is framed nicely and it was fun to animate.

Really made the most of the jam man. :) Nice work.

Thanks so much for the review as always my friend. This jam is really helping me update more often as the deadlines keep me in check :)

As long as the Miss herself enjoyed this shizzle. :D Good fun.

Much respect to moonified for being a good ass sport :)

lmao. XD Unexpected new sides to Chutney never seen before... good stuff, though somewhat disconcerting this actually scored higher than the grand Finale just a few days back...

Nekidcoboy responds:

Hey thanks! From my perspective, scores almost always low at the release and after some time grows up. Not as if I actually care about it though. Basically, it's just a traffic lights, showing if you piss a bunch of people off or not XD

Feels like this might be the first time we really see Sublo and Tango in a natural setting... it's like their unnatural setting. And Katy with an unnaturally big role too, and the former two way more humble than I'm used to.

It all feels both so different and so familiar... but like such a suitable way to end it too. Slice of life advice and all. And hell yeah I want to see more Sublo and Tangy Mustard! :) And Katy too, new job or no. Hard to match the well-planned spontaneity of these. Great as always. Maybe a little better than usual this time too. A little longer. A little stronger. A little different.

Aaron-Long responds:

Haha yeah I think it was the first time I had to draw more than one or two trees and stuff in the show! Took some figuring out. I was aiming for a different feeling with this one, maybe a little bittersweet or melancholy since it's the last one for at least a little while... glad people generally seem ok with it!

So detailed, so smooth, so dreamy... rtil putting out some unexpected E-rated gems allofa sudden!

I love everything about this. The 3D-like hybrid animation style too, where it's hard to fully detach one style from the other and see what's what, what might be a model, what might be pure 2D... it seems some parts are just so fluent and well-shaded 2D that they come across as 3D, while others must really be additional 3D effects... curious what program this was all put together with? More than one? Actually maybe there's something about that in the credits...

Soundtrack work is on point too, and a classy little site to go with it. You really can't tell that this is ten years old now either. Feels timeless. Maybe not the same with the site, not really optimized for mobile as it may be, but I miss that era too. When good design was more synonymous with uniqueness and effort. Great stuff. Definitely getting those Ghibli vibes too. Almost feel like I recognize the character, but maybe it's more so the same style as your art otherwise...

Always appreciate animation that doesn't even need dialog to keep you entranced and understanding too. Really was a magical moment in a foreign but Earthen light utopia.

No better time than now to put out so inspiring work.

rtil responds:

thanks as always cd.

all the character animation was done in Flash, no 3D used. however, the particles (fireflies, glitter) were created with a plugin called Particular for After Effects, which we eventually rendered the final video product in.

glad you enjoyed it and that it doesn't look too dated, haha.
