Realistically, wouldn't the bottle keep pouring out drink a bit longer when it's lying on the ground hmm... if there's any detail I can nitpick here. :P

This was awesome though. Great music, great voicing, fun and fluent animation - always extra appreciated when FBF, extra layer of relevant entertainment with the NG server rack in the back, unexpected office shot in the intro, a suitable spooky dance to tie it all together... dope stuff y'all.

Happy Halloween!

Yeah it definitely would still be pouring but then Iā€™d spend the month drawing champagne expanding and Iā€™m no Adam phillips

Soo does some form of introduction actually happen here? More importantly is there actually anyone in that audience? The chairs seem a little empty. šŸ˜…

It's a nice intro, perceptible shyness. but very short, over just when it's beginning...

DerkDirt responds:

thanks for the review :3 for introductions all they got was being shown for a few seconds.

If I understood the language hmm...

Cute work, though I for sure thought this'd be related to the Buckwheat Boyz - Peanut Butter Jelly meme back in the day. XD New times!

harajukuhipz responds:

LOL i got those vibes too XD. its called that cuz her names peanut butter , i based her off my brother ^__^
the language is german cuz thats her native language , it says ā€œ oh look , a snack ! ā€œ ^__^

This really perfectly encapsulates the spirit of General. XD And surmises our final thoughts and feelings thereafter through a multitude of creative forms of expression... in a way that's both entertaining and aggravating, soothing yet melancholy, moving but hella jolly... sometimes. Monumental collab y'all.

Good homage to one of our greatest losses. A fun place it always was yes.

RIP.

Thank you, Cyberdevil.

Seems like this MAY be a perfect loop, but the NG player stops up for a millisecond or so when you replay, that's troublesome...

Tis a simple but fun little loop! The tank bounce in particular is really smooth, must've taken some time to get the barrel right. I wonder why the character's so high above the tank though, and not actually sitting on or in it? But good stuff yo, hope @Aalasteir's seen this too!

LoboJ responds:

Yeah, I really wanted to made him in the tank, Aalasteir wanted his head vibing, I showed him other kind of movements that were rougher and match the movement of the tank and its curve, but he wanted the vibing mov so I decided to make the man apart from the tank because if I attach him to it the vibe movement will be imperceptible

The cube may be a simple cube but the audio exceeded all expectations here! XD This was kinda existential man, you try and you fail, the pressure to perform, the interplay between so different and seemingly incompatible forms, the size of the circle compared to the cube, even the voice a menacing baritone tone in comparison - which seems unsuitably and yet.. it goes well with the theme. It's daunting. I was not expecting it to get as graphic as it did in the end though lmao!

Was expecting this to just be a simple 3D model test thing but way to go! Set my expectations low since you said I'd be disappointed but here, but I really was not. The animation's simple but the script's both hilarious and profound, and the angles set the atmosphere...

Art man. The title leaves you expectationless, but the product really takes you on a ride.

Aalasteir responds:

Nice! I am oddly proud of it because I made it completely improvisationally. I'm a big fan of surreal comedy, like "Xavier: Renegade Angel."

You made the right decision by setting your expectations low. The titles of movies are not frequently discussed in terms of the impact they have on setting the tone and communicating what the material will be like. Titles provide powerful opportunities to give viewpoint on what the story will be about, using elements that frame the story, independent of the art itself.

The entire tone of a piece can shift simply by changing its title! Altering the perspective to communicate something entirely different. For example, instead of naming it "Cube," if it were titled "Circle," the framing of the story would be different.

Alternatively, if it were called "Box," would it refer to the cube itself or the environment around it? These subtle differences contribute significantly to how the story is perceived and can greatly shape its narrative arc.

First animations are usually pretty simple things but man this is a whole show! I'm impressed! Looking forward to future eps!

Thx (available on: YouTube)

The animation's maybe not the most animate all the way, like aside from most scenes not actually having animation, the one where Pico crosses the street for example, has the street lines changing direction as his feet do, so you clearly see it's just flipped around with each step. If you had two layers and just flipped the feet for example that'd be just perfect. :) Feels like you could amplify this a lot with little improvements like that. Or a little head bob. Zooms. Pans. A little movement even with less animated details in more scenes.

That said though, the story's really more important than the animation here, the music's suitable and the graphics ain't bad, it's a solid one! I love all the background details, posters and what-not, the alarm clock showing the error messages. All the detail works well with the less animate style; always gives you something to focus on regardless.

As for the plot, as I don't think Pico's really a psycho, more so a civic defender in school shooting times and all, a just overall cool dude who happens to gain firepower and manage it pretty well when he does... this is quite the twist hmm! And a tragic end really, though nice that it's still ambiguous, maybe some day this could even have a sequel, something like Pico The Redeemer, Pico The Fugitive, Pico In Prison... who knows, the potential's endless. :P

Happy Pico Day man! Good stuff.

vestik responds:

Thank you very much for the feedback and detailed comment!

Yeah, my next movie for Piconjo Day isn't that much animated either, but it has a bit more bobbing and animation. It's still a bit hard as I haven't found a program to animate in so I am just using MS Paint, not really an artist. I'll definitely keep in mind to add more movement to future movies, maybe even making full-on animations.

Thank you! I find I can make some pretty decent graphics if I take my time, I felt that the posters and details added a nice touch to what was already there. Pico isn't a psycho, but I had no idea what to title the movie and it was just a silly idea that came up in my head. Not sure what I would change it to.

I think that's a good idea! Pico In Prison might be something that I'd make for next year's Pico Day. :P
By then I'm hoping to have improved in animation and maybe make something with more movement, and hopefully to have find my own perfect style because my artstyle does get inconsistent sometimes.

Thanks once again for this comment, happy Pico Day!

Hyped! :D And allofasudden real nostalgic... I wonder what Compaq would say if they saw this hmm, are logos a trademark issue or no, hopefully no...

This looks promising y'all, I love the aesthetic, the music seems suitable, the transitions smooth, the trailer not too revealing but definitely promising! Can't wait to delve into the tale and all; see what new tier of narrative it's jumped to now!

Ant responds:

Glad to see you're excited! Also if for some reason HP gets upset with me using the Compaq logo in my game then things will be changed... it's not too important to anything in the game but might be important outside of the game. We'll see what happenes..

Ey @Aalasteir doing the voice in this one?! :D Or the sound effects? Or both??? Both dope!

It's a quick thing but got real serious for a moment with that kick! Audio and visual both top notch, you feel the power. Fun end.

Didn't expect nine seconds to be this wholesome! Nice work.

-cd-

Aalasteir responds:

Thank you so much!

klyde did the voice! I did the sound effects.
