Indeed a shame about the quality. I have a bunch of tracks that suffered the same fate from back in the day. The overall melody is nice, and it picks up along the way. It's a dreamy adventurous theme. Sounds good, even though the sounds not that good! :)

Thanks for review.)

The jazzy piano mixes well with the beat and background melody. It really flares up at the start of the track, then calms down, and at the end there's a completely different instrument to stare the way. Sounds good! Doesn't sound like friendship (more like... adventure), but it's a great track! Keep it up!

Firefreezer responds:

Thanks man, I didn't own a midi keyboard in 2009 but I really wanted to make it sound freestyle-ish.
Thanks for the honest review! Peace!

Sounds a bit more like industrial than dubstep, don't you think? The tin beats are nice, and the deep baseline that seems to get nervous towards the end of the track. Overall really industrial ambiance. Keep it up!

Pink-Ninja responds:

Thank very much, I guess you could say it's industrial. Never really looked at it like that.

Nice.

This track has a really trippy ambient flow . I like the background beat and how it keeps skipping, and the surface melody with a very electronic feel to it. Smooth, clear yet wavering all the time. It toggles between an additional rythem that really adds speed to the track, but overall it's still calm and ambient. A feelgood melody. Nice work!

Hey man thanks for taking the time to listen and make some points, greatly appreciated! Cheers :)

Oh hey, it's a perfect loop! I read the creeypasta at almost the same pace as the music the first time around, and it fit right in, the setting in the story really syncs with the sound even though there's no real finale in the music, it just keeps going in the same half-creepy half-ambient tone. I probably read the story differently because of the music too, since I didn't realize how creepy the ending really was first time around. :D

Anyway, it's a nice track, perfect background music for really any beautiful/tragic/strange/creative/ins piring story. The strings that rise up occasionally add a lot to the background melody. Is the background only piano btw, or is there something more? It sounds like it's more, but I can only hear a piano. Overall great piece!

S3C responds:

yo thanks for the review CyberBob! yeah it's just a piano...plus the strings of course.

Woah, this is like looking at the stars spin outside. It fills the room. Really great, enviornmental, emotional ambiance. Perfect background music for any serene scene or situation. Looking forward to more like this!

I have been considering doing my next album in this style.

It starts off ambiently, and builds up till a point where it sounds pretty psychadelic. The pace never really picks up though, and I'm wondering how it would sound if it speeds up towards the end. Overall a good piece!

falling responds:

I think I'll try that out, speeding it up and attempt to build it, carry the idea along a bit. Thank you for the compliments.

Nice and ambient, though maybe a bit bland. The melody itself sounds nice, but somehow it doesn't really glow, maybe the recording quality is just a bit crappy. I'd be happy to hear this with cleaner sound, would be a whole new experience! keep it going!

MasterCoyle responds:

I'm sorry I couldn't sway you with this. The reason the 'recording' quality is bad is because it was never recorded. I composed it at the piano straight onto the computer. Everything you hear being played in the piece is what's called 'midi' sound which is pretend instruments. That's also probably why it feels expressionless. Cheers for the review.

Starts off a bit slow, and then it... doesn't really speed up at all. :) The snares add some intensity , and the melody is interesting, but it still feels a bit plain. There's potential though, added layers and maybe pace and it would be great. Keep it up!

Great sound, starts off a bit icy, cool, and picks up the intensity nicely as it moves along. Great guitars, they really tear at the otherwise so ambient music, it's a good contrast... though sometimes they seem almost too sharp. Would be nice with somekind of solo somewhere in the track too, something fast, think Van Halen. Otherwise great work, keep it up!

merlin responds:

Thanks for the listen! I sort of toyed with doing a crazy solo over the slower part, but I couldn't get it to blend too well over all the synthetic sounds, and I couldn't give up any other part, cause I loved it too much. Sadly the song reached the 5 minute cap before I could get there. Perhaps I'll make an extended version after this competition! Stay tuned, and thanks for the 9.

merlin
