The voices that kicked in around 2 minutes were a bit unexpected, and though not very notible they somehow clash with the otherwise ambient feel of the track. I appreciate the variation but how aboaut an additional layer of instrumentality instead, maybe strings? Sounds good overall, nice and smooth!

geniebmusic responds:

Thank you for listening and commenting! I'm glad you find the track good overall.

That's interesting what you said about the voices around the 2 minute mark. Those additional voices are actually synth strings. So you think I should go with a more realistic string sound? If you like, you can PM me and tell me what you think.

Either way, thank you so much! I will work harder!

Hmm, I was going to pop up the old version and compare them, but it's gone! :O This sounds good though, much more complete than the previous one at the end, even though it doesn't seem longer? The phasing out works well, and I like the dreamy intersection as it closes in on a minute. The sound is still a bit sharp at the start, but it sounds good, overall fuller than it did before. Keep it going!

NoStereo responds:

Oh sorry I pulled the other one. Dx

It's only a small bit longer than the wip. I decided to keep it fairly short.

Thanks for the review again cyber!

This sounds almost like dubstep at times. Plenty of variation, plenty of intensity, plenty of industrialism and a steady beat in the background that somehow makes me think of Daft Punk. Wonder where the similarity lies though. I like the build-up towards the end especially. It sounds good!

PYROMANCERband responds:

Thanks a lot man! Daft Punk is (of course) one of my favorites so there's no stopping them from creeping in on the finer ends of production time. Good call!

I really like the beat in this, once it kicks in. The shakers get a bit monotone but everything else has a nice dark fluency to it. I can't really find the link between this and dentists, which I have a particular phobia for, it's actually a nice and ambient track. Simple melody, smooth sound. Great listening!

ScottJacob responds:

Thanks man, glad you enjoyed it. Yeah, the title is a weird one. Basically i had in mind aliens landing andd invading earth armed with dental drills. Which i too have a massive phobia of the dentist office.

Sounds like that device didn't manage to capture this as well as the other recording. Still good guitar play, though!

Again, thank you! yea, one was with some serious distortion and the other was pretty much clean. If i can get myself some good recording stuff i will see about other players and some good recording. I am just a hobby player. =)

Considering this was recorded on a phone, it really doesn't sound that bad (quality-wise). The rhythm itself is steady and catchy, and only starts skipping a bit around the end. Would be great to hear this with a few layers or other instruments. Nice work!

BlackAngel1384 responds:

Appreciate it! If I can find some other people to play with I will def get some serious stuff kicking, but i was just messing around with some power chords and whatnot and kinda dug the way this sounded. Thanks again =)

That auto tune is just way out of tune, hah, but all the same it entertains. The audacity of it. :D

Yeah... he made 4 lines and intended that I choose the best one... but I ended up keeping them all :D

This is a nice tune, melodic and ambient. I like the saw/static noise and the way the bleeps echo, makes it feel oldskool even though it's definately noy 8-bit sound. It's a bit slow overall, but there's plenty of variation and a great beat that keeps tripping in the background. Perfect background music, steady and rythmic. Would fit nicely in some RPG like Cave Story. Keep it going!

NoStereo responds:

Thanks so much for the exellent review Cyber :D. Also it's such an honor to be compared to Cave Story. I idolize that game and it's soundtrack! See you around :)

This is a living track, different melodies layered upon each other that all seem to float together. It has a VG style to it as well, without really reminding me of any specific game. Though it does vary the overall pace and pitch is pretty much the same all the way through, occasionally a background layer gives it a soaring kind of sound, and the moments of silence are refreshing breaks, can't think of anything to improve. this would be perfect as background music in an RPG or space game. Nice work!

Thanks a lot Cyberdevil! Means a lot.

I play lots of video games so I think I draw a lot of my inspiration from there but I combine it with the sounds you hear from industry artists as well.
