Literally? Your computer? What happened man? O_O

You were really getting into the Halloween groove with this one too... not bad at all, and long! An oddly both ambient and unsettling song with this one. Follows the description, it seems...

11 tracks ain't bad but... well whatever happened hope yer alright still! Music's secondary to self for sure. Twas a killer run if this really is the last one!

Just real life being real life I guess, didn't even get out of bed yesterday

Keep on going my man

Feels almost like something you'd hear in the DOOM soundtrack. :) Very atmospheric... wish it was a bit longer when it doesn't really end on a loop, but very nice...

I'm still glad you get a kick out of these small MIDI chiptune sketches I do on occasion. I haven't touched BeepBox in awhile but everytime you or someone else leaves a review on one of these tracks I've done months or even years ago I always consider picking it up again or some other musical software.

Sounds kinda like an embodiment of frustration, or grueling, of working through something heavy. Progress feels forced. The very fabric of the tune pushing itself forward; really working to get somewhere... very cool sound though. Complex composition man despite the tiredness!

Is that you on the vocals towards the end too? Hard to pick up the words, but sounds good...

larrynachos responds:

This song certainly seems to be an expression of fatigue. I was just throwing stacks of plugins on the rack, toying with sound design. The vocals aren't mine, just something I had in a folder. Thanks for listening CD! We're a quarter ways through this!

Aaah you got it out on the seventh after all! XD Oh well, timezones do differ, somewhere in the world it was definitely still October 6. I think I've used that excuse some earlier year when I was about to be away a full day and had to get one out in advance, before it was actually the right day in my timezone... doesn't feel as accomplishing for sure, but technically OK, I doe say...

This turned out dope anyhow. Feels like something I could hear in F-Zero too, smooth and soothing but energetic too... very nice.

I couldn't get to work on it until 9 or 10 central, so I was already racing against the clock. I think I did alright though lol. It was inspired by the drum and bass mixes I listen to on YouTube when I'm doing game dev.

What a banger! What a grand and groovy collaboration with the OG Goons I probably should know about but don't know if I ever did as this particular collective. After this though...

Loved the origin story at the end in particular, extra energy there, but all verses are solid, and the production impeccable. Funky fun and fantastic, both entertaining and easy on the ears, easy to favorite.

Nicely done y'all.

4cat responds:

my guy!! remember you from back in the day. Thank you for the love CD

Very cool this one... it reminds me of JRPG games I grew up on, like Golden Sun or Breath of Fire... the atmosphere's there from the start, but it builds nicely along the way too...

It doesn't feel quite as dark to me in audio as the description seems to portray it, more so adventurous, exciting, a quest, a mystery, a journey... not necessarily straight up purgatory!

Love the sound anyhow, it's tense but also pleasantly atmospheric. :) I think the little whistle sounds contribute to that impression too...

Thank you for your comment, to be honest you're pretty right, did what I could to make a solid description but the music is probably one of my most atmospheric ones x)

And also, thanks for your endless support from the moment you found my profile, it is awesome to see someone likes my songs, whatever the other songs it can be compared to :)

Man this takes me back to the F-Zero type racing games I grew up with... love the style.

Composition may not be as impeccable or complex as your 2.5 hour ones, like The Freeze (or wait that was my name, I mean, wait was there another name...) for example, but still solid man! Just the fact that you made this in a mere hour is crazy impressive really. Hope you recoup some sleep tomorrow!

I didn't even realize the second half was the first half duplicated btw, that in part definitely explains the production speed. XD

Killing it here too, low on time or no you're still dope on atmosphere and flow!!! Love dnb too.

I haven't been naming them, but I'm beginning to wonder if that was a mistake lol.

I'm glad you liked it! It was very rushed but it might be worth revisiting after the dailies are over :)

This starts so gritty and good, ominous, rough and energizing and then... suddenly devolves into a slow but funky wonky wondrous kind of rhythmical trip with unpredictable and jumpy dips chops rhythms yet hella rich bass and kicks... it's almost like this is a personal challenge hmm, is it? Can I rap to this? XD The creative flare's there but tempo and rhythm's... unconventional!

I'm honored though! Shall keep spitting fo shizzle - be it to this or some of your other beats, and you keep doing you good dude! The work you make always manifests in the most creative and at times crazy ways, yet always with a killer groove that just breaks your face, they're a gift to the word man! :)

<3!

Father-of-Death responds:

thank you!!! :)

Yea this beat is very odd would be weird to rap to but wanted to make something in honor of ya bro!

Tearout huh, a mix between riddim death step and dubstep... I'm learning new things here.

For the first half minute or so I was starting to think I might have to rap on this one too, such a good build, atmospheric, rythmic and ominous... but then ehh. XD

I wonder if I've ever run into more than 1 of the aforementioned four genres earlier myself... this is new to me. May take some time to appreciate. The genre definitely suits the season, and the sound design's hella elaborate here, if a bit repetitive in beat beyond the screams and all. Not as huge a fan of this style (yet) but who knows, maybe in time...

Props on trying new things man. Composition/mix = solid! 👍✨

larrynachos responds:

It's definitely an acquired taste! Real tearout artists have sound design so dense and crazy, I crank that shit UP even though it's basically just a tinnitus giver xD

Here is some tearout by some real artists lol:

shit goes so hard *^* I played some at work once and my manager told me it made her want to kill herself lmfao

A whole album for Halloween, both the sounds and the stories, an air of eerie and spooky-faring soundscapes that both sooth and pursue you...

This is amazing man. A grand compendium for the season of seasons this year. Very nice work!
