Oh man. XD I love the lyrics, and the tone's just perfect too, but the flow otherwise... could be polished a bit! Still, most entertaining song I've heard in a while. Good job at least participating, no matter the lack of days! Seems the ones you did were actually pretty ambitious, as in really: complete songs. Good stuff.

Yeah, I know what you mean with the flow, I wasn't quite sure how to better transition between some parts, I was hoping it was good enough but I guess not, lesson learned for the future though. I think I learned a lot about songwriting at least just from experimenting during FAWM. At the very least I figured out how to write 2 minute songs consistently lol.

Yeah, I guess my FAWM songs were pretty ambitious looking back, though they really didn't take a lot of time, the instrumentals were all put together in a day and then another day or two was spent recording vocals and mixing, and there were definitely days when I was finishing multiple songs in a day, so I definitely could've finished FAWM if I had put more effort and hadn't gotten sick near the end lol.

Thanks!

Hey this wasn't bad at all! :D Quite a variety of voices too, both genders, both apathetic and full of emotion, but a lot of things. Fun listen.

Thank you and I'm glad you liked it!

The layers somehow seem to disalign after a while, the shifts not really following each other, but... interesting melody. Poppy sound too, in an orchestral way, like a family movie/detective fiction/game-type... sound. Nice melody.

That one guy sounds almost like Jack Black. :) An impressive cast, accompanied by mighty orchestral music and brooding build-up... would be fun to see if anything ever becomes of it!

Wondermeow responds:

To kind mate i'll definitely keep you posted if it goes anywhere, thanks champ.

Kind regards,

I'm pretty sure I've heard this one before hmm, but no review! Remember it especially because of the off volume between you and Tom. :) Makes it somewhat difficult to listen to in the background, without really focusing on that distance voice but... otherwise a thorough interview! Long and informative; never stopping up with the words. Would be fun to hear more like it.

Pretty interesting mixture of house and... something else, almost like electro. The beat never gets all too monotone what with the jumpy rhythm, and the pauses come with a sense of contemplation and calm each time. Easy listening.

Thanks CD I hope everything's well! I really appreciate the review! :)

You definitely managed to bring that feeling across pretty well! Not entirely sad but definitely... empty. Like walking towards something but you don't know what. Doesn't matter. Headlights pass. People live their lives. The city light flash by at a high speed as you trudge on, disjointed and slow... it's got that feeling.

Yeah! The reason I linked to this, is because it's my very first NG upload :'D
While this is far from terrible, I think I've come a long way since, and Newgrounds has really helped me grow. Thank you for leaving your thoughts!

Gets me thinking of Nightmare Before Christmas, or Barber of Fleet Street, but something else too... the melody feels familiar, the closest I get is the Mai HIME soundtrack I think... it has that same pace, melody and mystery, but picks up in a more orchestral, Tim Burton-like way. Not comparing to other pieces that aren't all that similar though: this sounds awesome. I love the atmosphere it builds up! Magical and intense at the same time. Music like this is definately your forte!

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

I agree that this has one of those "feels familiar" feels. The main melody (as in, not the chords or anything, just the very notes playing the melody at the start) was not made by me. This was part of a competition where you took other people's melodies and turned them into something greater :D

I can see the Danny Elfman (Tim Burton movies composer) comparion for sure, especially with the voice used, and the mystical vibe (+ the bells)! I'm really glad you enjoyed it ^___^
Thank you for another great review!
