YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
and thank you

That 'play' button on the title screen seems so incredibly small compared to all surrounding buttons! As for the animation though, I remember the bar scene from last year, but man I had no idea it'd been a year since then already... time flies! The mood's brighter in this one, the shooting scene was slick, the voicing good... not much happens overall though. They walk down the street (in this scene I was expecting some music though - or background noise - had to turn up the volume to see if I was missing something those first few seconds), shoot some stuff (lmao Darnell... wonder if Nene will make an appearance in the final part?) and plan to leave. It's not short, or boring but still somehow eventless in terms of plot progression. Looking forward to next year; Happy Pico Day!

artistunknown responds:

Oh dammit, I always mean to make the play button the biggest button... or at least of equal size. At least I no longer use a youtube button :p

I was really considering whether to upload this scene, 'cause like you said, nothing happens plot-wise really. The third scene is kinda like that too but serves as comic relief for all the serious stuff that's brought up through the film, and then the 4th and final scene is the big one where everything happens.

And yeah, I remember you saying you were looking forward to seeing the full thing this Pico Day, but that didn't happen :p I do have the first 3 scenes done, with a bunch of changes and improvements done to the first scene as well. I also have a few seconds done of the 4th scene, but it's like 8 minutes long so it still got a bit of work to do. Next Pico Day maybe ;3

About background music in the beginning, I was going to try to find some, or at least some city ambiance, but then I decided "Eh, the next part is mostly music so why bother" plus the Pico Day deadline was coming up fast so I didn't have time to find some good music to use.

And I hadn't really thought about a Nene cameo. While animating the part with Darnell shooting himself I thought "People are going to find this racist... huh ya know, it would make more sense to Have Nene killing herself since she's Asian... wait that's probably more racist" In the end I didnt' care 'cause I already had a bunch of it animated. I do have an idea for where she can appear now though ;3

Thanks for the review and Happy Pico Day!

Haha, I really wasn't expecting that ending! Awesome job at making the foes seem as sinister as possible, the eyes shifting shape and color, the magical swirls and subtle sounds and then... I thought he was a bit more attached to that sceptre! :O Or whatever it's called. Felt like you were getting back on track with this after the last surprisingly short animation, but alas it is the grand finale! The end! Within an unforseable future! It's sad news but best of luck out there in the real world; hope to see more projects of yours when time allows it.

Thanks Cd, always loved your constructive criticism, even when I didn't do my best. I hope one day, hopefully some time soon, I'll be getting more feedback from you once again. You're a great piece to the community of NG :)

Woo, that was... incredibly cute and surprisingly creepy... but still way more cute than creepy. Soft music, cheerful voice acting and a simple plot somewhat intensified by arrays of spiderlegs and what I first assumed to be a group of monsters staring out from behind that helping sister. It's a subtly surprising short!

HogisLeDude responds:

Yeah i wish i could do more for the spider bodies with which the sisters posess (If you know the Dark Souls story) and give them more screen time but i just didn't have any ideas for them. If this short does well i will try making something for them next time. Thank you for your comment. ^^

So, it's based on a game! The idea would've been even more awesome if it was as creatively unique as it seems to be, but either way the lack of education and the apparent violence of the paradoxially non-gravitational area was just great. Really smooth; entertaining animation... and that end. XD Nice work!

Yep, I have an idea for an original series but I want to get better at writing and storytelling first. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

What an awesome first episode! And... it's not even the first episode yet! The annotations were a pretty interesting feature, leading to all types of secret links and easter-egg type content, makes for more replayability than the regular video... though it'd be cool if you could watch with or without as they do get in the way of the viewing experience a bit... if you have, say, already clicked all of them. Also pretty neat including a choice at the end; leaving the future of the series up to the users!

Animation, art, script, voice acting and everything is just awesome. As for the LQ, maybe a message to the staff might open up for a greater upload size permit? I remember in the old days they used to say people could send them a message if the filesize wasn't enough to have account limits lifted for specific content forms. Who knows, maybe that still applies. Looking forward to the next episode of this. Keep it going!

BestQuest responds:

Thank you for the kind words! Stuff like this actually keeps us going and inspired. I'm actually working on a way to auto-pause the video when an annotation is clicked, and resume it when you click the screen.

Did you sign up for the choices in the end? ;)

lol, that one moment of tragedy, and then right back to the randomly entertaining Walrus encounter. The animation's style what entertains the most, great play on expressions, great voice acting, great everything. Keep it going!

Gerkinman responds:

Im glad you liked it man ha ha.

19's not stopping him!! For a minute here I was thinking the Easter occasion always had a second implication hmm, what a coincidence with this year. I like the art style on that intro piece, and the animation's slick and fun, voice acting a bit imbalanced in volume but it's great otherwise. Happy Easter/4/20!

-cd-

artistunknown responds:

Yeah, the volume was a bit of a pain and it probably should have been fixed, for whatever reason my voice actor's mic changed its settings half way through recording, and I couldn't figure out how to fix it, so I just left it as is. I thought it wouldn't be that noticeable but I guess I was wrong :p
Thanks for the review!
