Nice initiative making a real-time paint video like this as a tutorial, even if seems to me it could use some guidance on what technique you use, what tools, etc, for it to really teach the viewer how you do this. Also, doesn't always seem like the most efficient way of drawing, having everything on one layer like this, partly overlappy/underlapping solid colors and line-work, and outlines are pretty thick and wavery. That said, the end result isn't bad at all! Zoomed out you don't notice any of these deficiancies, it looks good; the sketchy style makes it all the more unique. Nice work!

To Answer your questions!
1. My style is My own! but if you need an anchor then I would say that My drawings and or Art frame work is like that of a child at a daycare! it the way of My True Art, it's uninfluenced by anything man made. I just let My self loose I don't think I simply go on autopilot! then everything else comes in to place. I'm "Toonyman the Man without influences" and the only 1 your ever meet there are no others like me. soon I will harness these new discoveries, full power then I will unleash a new form of Art called True Art (Working Title).

2. I did use layers just 1 for outlines 1 for sketch guides, then 1 for the rest. (I believe layers are irrelevant! there useful but i don't think i need to use them for everything). if i can help it, I would like to use less! to non layers.

3. about the tools, is just Mypaint!(free open source) I try to hide the programs environment(GUI), so as to not distract you from the Show. It's just you(the viewer) me, a plain white digital canvas, some good old classics tunes and nothing else!

Haha, really is more entertaining in small segments like this... even if it feels like it took a while to get into the mood. The conversation does move a bit slowly, no matter how short the episodes get. But anyway, was a fun watch! Script's the highlight. Keep at it!

JellowStudios responds:

Thank you, as always, for your helpful insights. We look forward to your thoughts. We will be putting more specific attention on the voice acting from here on out and hopefully that will infuse the conversations have more energy and bite.

Haha, particularly entertaining fun facts in this one! And good length, didn't feel all that short this time. Feels extra relevant too with the new release of Jurassic Park sequel to be. Maybe something with Star Wars considering the re-launch of that franchise? Keep up the great work!

ZenithQuinn responds:

Thanks! And we're planning a star wars one! :)

So eh... they catch the bad guy and all is good? Was kinda expecting something more to happen there! Some action! Some comical development! Was entertaining but... not really that meaningful. Keep it going!

Thanks for the review, I appreciate it! Keep on reviewing, ya make NG even c00Ler

An inspiring session of existential spoken word, with suitable simplistic animation go with it! I like it. Leaves me in thought, mood uncertain, moved by word as curtain curves. Nice work!

Thank you :)

lmao, nice twist at the end there. Dialog's hyper; hilarious, and the animation goes right with it. LEGO character parts was a nice touch too, and plenty of things to keep you entertained. Surprised this isn't getting a bigger response here, nice work!

Thanks so much for that review, cd! Glad you found this entertaining. I was already working on my next animation, and this motivates me even more, thanks again.

One small dose grafitti, one big dose ascending cityscapes. :P A pretty unique idea, and it was fun watching, colorful, creative; with some occasional comedic result. Nice work!

Thanks for watching, I'm glad that you liked it.

Haha, should just go around touching random people's boobs all the time, cause ya never know ya know. :P Fun stuff: simple in sketch but intently voiced. Though one thing it could really use: preloader. Thanks for the laugh!

BandoBoys responds:

Thanks for the review! Thanks for the preloader idea too!

What a masterpiece man! :D Love how the lecture just fades away and makes way for this creative mash-up... and though I've only seen this a few times now I can't spot any recycled pages either... are all these notebook pages unique? Are they actual notebook pages or is all text also part of the project? It'd make for an insane amount of Easter Eggs if it is!! And even if not, you can pause at any one moment and take part of whatever facts/trivia/randomly entertaining mumbjo jumbo is scribbled on the pages that pass. Seems like an intense amount of effort put into this. I love the transitions between live footage and stopmotion, how the hand appears to flip the pages when things start going in 'slow motion' just before the fall, the sounds, the music, the subtle comedy and lack of personaly identifiable faces that somehow makes it even easier to live into the production. Feels like this piece is still severely underrated here on NG right now, but hopefully it'll get the credit it's due with time! Fantastic work!

Thanks for the kind words, CD. We didn't cycle any of the pages. It is about 2000 individual pages. The animation was done first, then we had note taking parties where all the neighborhood teenagers would come over to hang out, listen to music, and take page after page of notes. Lots of song lyrics, inside jokes and a bunch of creative writing. So, you're right, lots of Easter eggs.

A sad story of superhero demise. :/ The music really kept it moody. It's a bit odd how you get glimpses of all these criminal activities right before the meteor though, and not much of the main character. Will they all play a part of the story, or are they but fragments of the mayhem that ensues when the meteor starts reaching Earth?

I also feel that explosion could've been a bit mightier! It feels like the highlight of the series, and yet compared to the rest of the animation's a bit simplistic and bland. No debris. No perceptible shockwave, etcetc. Looking forward to the future of this though, so far it's good!

StashBoogy responds:

Hey, thanks! And yeah, this was one of my first animation efforts. I'm hoping to improve as the story goes forward.

Thanks for the kind words and encouragement!
