Seeing the city image on the disc spin as I listen, I imagine I'm parachuting out of control, somersaulting through the sky in a sunset dive where my body does little to bring up a barrage of air that might slow my fall. It goes round and round, and what comes around goes around and round... were it not for the unintentional motion of said thumb I'd probably imagine a sunset on ground-level though, dusty and Earthbound, not really slow or eventless, but with a good dose of control. Feels like confidence. Also nice ending, abrupt but fitting.

oh cool I thought I was the only who disabled the visualizer. Interesting; I cannot say I had that story in mind when creating the song lol, but the spinning icon is acutely described there. Thanks for the review!

I really enjoyed this one; maybe cause I'm in the melancholy contemplative mood it seems this was made for, mellow yet somber, a journey through life, drifting, riding, going somewhere but never getting there, it's what I picture I'd hear when I sit in the backseat of a car, looking out the window at shapes and shadows in the dark - vague landscapes passing by. This inspired my poem of the day too, felt like a think cap, something to bring forth strange thoughts and emotions. Kinda sad, but really nice. And Congrats on the 10 weeks so far!

glad you like this one, thanks for the review. I really like your descriptions too. I'll check your poem, @ CybderD/p2016 I assume. and thanks! about a fifth the way there.

I do hear those melodic minors, giving it a mellow sense of mystery! At the beginning, it sounds a bit like elevator music, but when the improv kicks in the atmosphere shifts a bit. Overall mellow and easy listening, and a background loop where the loop isn't all that noticeable unless you really try to hear it. I feel like Latin music would be a bit fiercer, somehow? It's a nice tune, ambient; easy.

elevator music is typically latin! look up a Bossa Nova, they are typically laid back. Thanks for the review!

Hmm, I do hear some dusty prairie here, but more than a showdown in a dusty saloon, it feels like the kind of music you'd here in a 60-70s action flick with a group of afro-wielding Americans scoping out a bank just before a heist... or driving down a dusty country road right after... or entering a noble Casino in the deserted outskirts of Nevada for a classy con.... or on an old steam roller rolling up the river... or something like that. I image the saloon music would be a bit slower, without so much strumming; not so bright. Nevertheless, twas a classy tune! Blue and moody and groovy and uplifting all at the same time. Cool strings.

haha, busted a rib at the "afro-wielding Americans" reference. I can hear the 60-70s rock influence...not sure if that's what you are implying but it's funny all the same. nice visuals; thanks for the review Bobby

A soft and mellow tune this time, and no background loop... is it two layers of improv this time? One layer of almost slap-bass-like guitar; one of regular? They sync together nicely; build up a really chill tune, very easy-listening, has a funky feel to it too, and a little bit of that Spanish-type-guitar-play I don't know the name of. Really liked this one, feels like something I could have on loop all day and not get tired of. Good stuff!

Actually there is a background loop, but glad to hear it was less noticeable this time!
I don't hear any Spanish influences in here (Flamenco? far from it lol) but the slap-guitar was a good descriptive tag for this style that I was looking for, thanks! Well, glad you liked this one! Thanks for another review!

Don't think I've actually heard the original for this one, but it's a nice tune for sure. Really enjoying the synthy sound in particular, reminiscent of times past; good movies. Overall nice ambience, and a bright kind of tension, and perfect loop too. Nice work.

Thank you!

A smooth groove! Love the reverb (oh wait, I guess that's the distortion?) on the background guitar too, mellow and sharp at the same time, and the added FX at the end to rivet it all up. Was hoping the background loop would shift a bit though, it feels like it's always going up, up up and up, though if it broke the pattern every once in a while and went down a bit, and then up again, it... would've been pretty nice I feel. Anyway: groovy tune: great guitarplay; looking forward to what next week has to offer!

S3C responds:

Both guitars have reverb, but the lead is the one with the distortion. Glad you noticed the end FX- just gradually increased the reverb decay to make the sound fade out in a more distant manner. Valid criticism regarding the background loop- including a separate pattern/loop to break the monotony is a bit out of scope of #sumirs3cjams...unless if I can find a way to make sequencing recorded loops more efficient. Thanks for the review, look forward to seeing you back next week dude

A classy mesh of classics! Sounds good, stylefully ambient and sinister at the same time. And welcome back! 7 years sure is a long time.

Thank you. I'm uploading some more songs just in time for the superbowl.

Feels like I should write something truly inspiring here... but words are not enough really. :) It's an honor to be on this; it turned out fantastic! Grand line-up of styles and uplifting melodies, occasional solos in spectacular songs, with a mass of diverse brass, ska, punk, rock, rap and even a bit of reggae influences, completed with clever lyricism and some truly big names among the tray of featured artists. ;) High five!
