If that traditional seasonal greeting card was to ever receive an audial embodiment of sorts I can see this being about as close as it gets. :) Especially in the beginning it really has a Christmas sounding jingle/sparkle/thing to it, and grows nicely as it goes... uplifting, festive and not too fast...

I could really see this being used in a commercial hmm.

Jabun responds:

Ah thanks so much CD! I never really thought about it re the Christmas theme, but now that you mention it, I can definitley hear it :) No buyers for commercials yet, but there's always time XD Thanks for listening and reviewing :)

If I listen to this when I'm tryna sleep there's no way I'm a be sleeping though. XD Such hype...

It's fascinating how you can build this so much without ever really going over the top and crazy either, less really is more sometimes hmm, or maybe it's the slightly unpredictable percussion that gives it a bit of that perfect kind of audial insanity. Love that end energy too, though almost feels heavier hype-wise in the beginning somehow. Feels polished overall. Clear sound quality but with wonderful weight.

Is that main melody bit some kind of flute or brass btw? Can't be that euphonium can it...? Can't really tell what it is. Stands out in a subtle kind of way; sets this apart from other stuff easily. Wriggles through your mind and amplifies hype level further further go berserk and merk and murder (words and such, of course)!!!

Dope work.

The lead in the beginning is 3 instances of Egyptian Ney by findasound's Faiyez Saidawi; I think the end is a crunched wav. I'll have to looksie if you want. Findasound is out of business so grab their products anywhere you can. Afaik they weren't just deleted but distributed elsewhere

The secret to builds is honestly keeping things tame in the beginning, and probably overusing delays and transition whooshies, gongs, etc. I don't even think I used a single ride in this song, just weird blaster noises panned around, if you catch those. Then the challenge is leveling before using any compression. I'm my own harshest critic. Maybe there is a sort of charm to that

Mostly I just wanted quiet and this song happened LOL

Such crazy energy in this one. :) The creative things it could be a part of hmm... feels like it'd work well with pretty much anything. Atmospheric. Suitable pauses as to not keep that constant intensity either. Unconventional and heavy, and the little atmospheric disturbance in back, almost like screams of some sort, lost souls like... imagine this in DOOM...

your feedback is amazing as ever CD thank you!

was really trying for something heavy and i try and stay away from the major pop formulas.
im glad this one works

Interesting theme for a jam, and an all but enigmatic title, feels optimal. For a while there after the one minute mark it gets a nostalgic VG kind of tone to it, reminds me of something I can nae place or recall, flows well overall, soft and jazzy, never waning, felt a little messy the first listen but it's like you pick up the pattern the more you play it... soothing stuff.

S3C responds:

There's 12 keys in music hence the title. The Enigmatic Dozen, like 12 superheros each with their own theme that leads in two each other. I've actually shown you this before. Thanks for the review.

So awesomely atmospheric, as always! And that unpredictable energy that jumps in towards the end too... really takes you to another place, be that under water or outer space. Maybe a whole other world than the motherworld...

Uploaded a 2021 "remaster" but called it Deep instead. Glad you checked this one out, always loved the synth patches but the track was never very popular :)

This is so soothing... wrote a lil something with it, hope ya don't mind!

damn this is an old song...of course you can use it

So crazy trippy! XD The dual melodies at the beginning took a while to get into, but y'know... well maybe you never really do get into them, they just sound like insanity. But then the choir starts building in the background and the solo and damn... this'd be a real journey in game. Happy it all starts syncing a bit more when the solo comes in too, that part's just monumental.

Reminds me a little of Serious Sam for some reason, crazy atmospheric monolithic Babylonian battleground sound, something like that...

@Quarl though I've been discussing WADs with some real youngin's around here too though! XD The DOOM community's strong as ever!!!

Good stuff. Would love to play that level... I mean WAD.

S3C responds:

thanks for the review...doesn't surprise me DOOM is a timeless classic after all

It's pretty catchy this one! Solid beat in back too. Reminds me a little of Cave Story...

Nabella responds:

Thanks, dude. It's been awhile since I've made this but what I remember about it was that it was loosely based off of Super Mario Land's ending theme. I really like the "You did it!" vibe.

You do miss a few beats here and there here but it's not a bad start. :) I like the melody/piano. Good energy. A little more consistent beat and it'd be something to groove to!

Also a little short, but it builds up well. Feels like could be a WIP.

stevetherapper responds:

Hey someone finally gave me constructive criticism on my song!

In all seriousness thanks for the review. The reason for its slightly inconsistent beat is because I was actually manually playing the piano and the drums in separate projects, and then merged the audio clips together with a VIDEO editing software, and then turned it into an mp3. Probably coulda looped the instrument recordings, but what do I know, I’m not a professional music producer.
