Getting reminded of Liero with this one! :D Minimalism at its finest. Feels natural. Good pixel placement too, maybe a little odd no grass overlaps the tree trunk? And roots underground? Looks good though if you don't start thinking too much about it!

PotatoHorizon responds:

Oh I forgot to overlap it

Hand in particular/certain other bits look a little plastic, but I really like everything else about this, in movement too. The clothing, the play on light and all... classy work.

Imagine this as a holographic album cover hmm. :) Technically maybe possible!

ABNOCTO responds:

Those spiky bits will be polished when she'll make her "big screen" appearance :D

The form/color contrast on this one's just so perfect. :) Favorite so far I think.

Looks like it looks just as fun as it may have been to make too; maybe said fun's a part of what made it so great.

Appreciable background decor too!

Yarn responds:

Oh thank you! Orangebeef is def one of ky favorites I've made. Its an easy shape overall so it only takes a few hours to make one

I tend to pose them in front of my backgrounds just because I don't have a suitable place to take their pictures, but I think the backgrounds make them a little more fun

Ah I see the brown one now... I guess she could come across a bit more like Mother Earth with that tone too. :) Either a cosmic entity or an Earthbound one, or a water-based on that shifts color like so... either way this is a really cool design.

Urichov responds:

Thanks a lot. Interesting to think about how colour choice can change what you think a design evokes, even if it otherwise remains the same. Guess that's fairly obvious when you think about it, but for not often encountering simple palette swaps on an otherwise identical design these days.

So bright and beautiful... classy work!

ZakkVanBurace responds:

Thank you very much!!

It'd be a cuterpillar without the knife. :P

Was just about to say it's crazy nobody's tried this before, but apparently is'a whole brand! Could use this as their mascot though. Way better.

gatekid3 responds:

Oh, youre right. thats a funny name for a brand

This is pretty cool... so this is the kind of stuff you can make with blender hmm. Is the pixel effect part of it? Processed with something else too?

-cd-

Will responds:

Thanks CD! The pixel effect is entirely Photoshop. Blender was used to make the 3D shapes, colors, light and animation. Without the Photoshop pass it looks like this: https://i.imgur.com/SyUKFMv.png

First thought: it's like Pikachu but hmm, not really... a man getting hit by a punch that pretty much penetrates the length of his body and encircles him in a aura-like veil of violent energy? The hands that envelop him though hmm... somebody kicking him in the nuts from behind?

I'm probably trying to see this from a very superficial standpoint, maybe it's the embrace (and background vortex) of death, maybe it's something sexual, a mind-blowing embrace or similar surge of stimulus, or maybe it really is strange and inexplicable... it'd seem a bit more straight-forward if it weren't for those hands though.

Either way I love the color/rough style. Awesome but... strange...

Stopsignal responds:

It's got more of a metaphorical, feelingsy answer, but damn i do love those interpretations, so i'd never say what it really means, hahahahah

However, this is also one of those times where i just let my mind go for it and didn't think too much about the drawing itself, so while i do know what it's trying to say, maybe not even i could really say it. Or maybe even know it fully. Weird to think about, in a way

Surprisingly gender neutral for the eighties hmm, one of the three Highlanders seeeems to be a girl but as for the other two... fascinating how this cover could very much be a lost gem but could also be a very authentic-looking parody/homage, and I can really nae discern which it is. Google give no alternative sources except a retweet on your own post of ditto. Either way though: this is bad-ass. Would've loved to read it if it was real... and ditto if it isn't. Nice.

Raziberry responds:

Aye laddie tis a fine cover indeed! (I made it myself cause the comic never got its third issue.)

A nice break from all that bondage hmm. :)

Love the form, the light, but most of all all the snacks! All in intricate detail. Feels both wholesome and refreshingly different. Beautiful work.

Aster-Effect responds:

thank you very much :D
