Interesting piece, and an interesting notion as to the duality of the sides. The way God (?) is portrayed, he looks a bit like a businessman, which you could interpret as in: if we were made in his image, and this is what we've become, then he must have been what we are now long before our time: nothing more than a suited symbol of greed and ego! The underside seems to beg to our inner nature rather than the facade we put on, though whereas one holds an axe, the other holds a white flag, a symbol of surrender and peace (even if it is one of deceit)... and admittedly it does a bit brighter on the clouds than the fiery depths of the underworld too. :)

Interesting character design on the devil; his humanized traits. Palms of hands and chest a bit like that of a monkey, and though he wields a weapon, he doesn't look directly evil. The man in the suit however wields a sly smile even with his symbol of innocence. I wonder if the expressions are intentional that way, or just how I perceive them? In a way, the devil could be seen as a reflection, maybe in the pool of water the falls pour into. The divide feels natural, and I like how clouds and fire frame everything in, though would've been nice with more fire at the bottom, around the edges of the frame IMO. to complete the circle. Unless it really is a mirror! In which case the frame wouldn't be part of the reflection. An interesting piece overall; open to so many interpretations. The line work is basic, but smooth and refined, and coloring all fits in. Not sure the outer frame makes it better, but it does give the impression it could be a painting hanging on a wall; not just a digital image. Imaginative work!

Wooot .. Thanx a ton .. Sir !!!

A mighty window looming in the background behind the bride; colors of somber sunlight playing in this inner sanctum. Even though the scene is beautiful, the bride doesn't look that happy with all that's happening? I wonder if there's a story here? Atmospheric; beautiful piece!

DolTiSh responds:

Yes, it was a last minute decision to make her looked sad to sneak in some story element into the piece. Though I overlooked and didn't adjust the lighting to fit the mood a bit more. Newbie mistake :d

A pretty fiery piece! Background is a bit of a blur, but it looks good! Nice work on the fiery effects in particular, even if they somehow feel like a layer in front of the character. Would be cool if the whole character was immersed in energy, and the flame swirled up his arm somehow? Keep it going!

Thanks a lot for your feedback...I appreciate it very much.

I like the color; shrouded gaze. Doesn't directly give a disco feel I feel, but it does feel abstract and trippy. Sketchy lines just seem to make it more artsy, too. Nice work!

viqqah responds:

Thank you very much! I really didn't know what to call her, I chose disco because of the colors only.

A pretty picture perfect portrait of Naruto! Bit hard lines and basic shading, but it's all in consistent style. Ears may the only real thing that stick out a bit. Nice work!

Thank you I appreciate the criticism I'm new to this but thanks anyway :D

An impressive painting of an impressing person. Nice detail on clothing texture, trinkets, and that demonic helm in particular. The two-colored eyes make for an interesting personality, I imagine, and maybe more than one? Hard to tell if he's good or bad, he seems to radiate both peace and power; resolution. The hazy clouds and rubble before him might be a hint at something else though! Nice piece.

Thank you for sharing your perspective, it is always interesting to see how others interpret my art :)

An impressively realistic portrait! Eyes feel a bit inset somehow, shaded, and skin almost too smooth, but overall looks great!

Specz responds:

thanks! I drew this when I was starting to find my feet. I'm not a fan of hyper-realistic art anyway, I like my work to look a little 'painted'... but this is what you get when you use the default brushes on Photoshop xD I think this was my first real piece I was proud of :)

W arm and beautiful portrait! Nice how it all flows together too, character and background, even though the lines seem to define her.

PaulaHarris responds:

Thank you xx :)

What a ghastly view of the world, seen through those alien eyes! Of course, I view them with bias. Maybe that's their expression of peaceful surrender; and in a minute they'll dive down to bestow upon us the great wisdom they've collected through the millenia. ;) Interesting angle though, it really conveys threat!

Interesting review, thanks :-)

Seems like everyone is participating in this one contest. :D Those spotlights hmm... they really look like two pairs of legs just running away, floating in the air there. At first I imagined they were remnants of some brutal explosions, part of Deadpool's attempts at subduing certain groups of people as to not ruin the day... but once you know they're lights... the left one still reallylooks like a pair of legs! Just can't get rid of that impression! XD

Character art looks nice, a cozy embrace, and the lighting atmospheric, though background feels a bit rushed in detail. Lines on the road, the heart of police officers, trashcans, sidewalks and windows and walls... it looks good at a glance, but in original resolution it's a bit noticeable. If they were in motion I imagine the blur might've seemed more natural. Anyway, looks good overall; good luck with the contest! :)

First... I am SO sending every WIP I have to you from now on before I post them because you mentioned pair of legs and my mind exploded with what an awesome acid trip I could make out of this picture... if I had time. Now all I can do is wipe my tears of laughter because you, sir, totally made my day :D :D Thank you so much for that!
I know right, everyone, Jazza is important! :)

One thing I learned is that I suck at time management and I ran out of time, but if I didn't submit it anyway, I would never learn to know better. So yes, you were pretty gentle with last few statements and I thank you for that, and for the good wishes. I am not counting on getting anything solid from this contest, but I now know what it means to bite off more than one can chew :) :)
