A simple but flawless Butzbo-typical loop as always. :) Feels like the floor moves slower than the walls, but apart from that: good stuff! Happy Pixel Day!

Butzbo responds:

Thanks cd! and good eye on the bkg bit, it actually has a lower frame-rate. I'd like to make a more complex work in this style so it's good to have that balance in mind.

I think this is the roughest pixel bounce I've ever seen before. :) Smooth, all body-encomposing motion though, and the pixel design overall is crisp and good! Nice work.

Thank ya!

Such an awesome-looking cat! :D So full of wisdom and wit, with such a profound yet cat-like pose, and as if he really was a Santa he looks like he was something up his sleeve, too... assuming it's a he because of the beard, btw, though not so telling otherwise.

Love the sparkle and shine on the three too. It really seems to radiate a seasonal spirit and warmth, and zoomed in... it's interesting how simple blotches give such a great effect. Even the beads shift color, and fade out in such an authentic way. Both fir and fur looks natural, glow, lighting, simple shading, texture... even subtle details like the traces of snow/frost on his knitted sweater. Keep scrolling up as I write the review; notice new things.

Seems so simple, but so polished. Nice work! Very Belated Merry Christmas too!

Ugh this is by far one of my favourite comments I ever received :) Thank you so much for being so eloquent and taking your time with listing what you liked. It's humbling and supportive at the same time and it just makes me want to paint more :) thank you thank you thank you <3

Sooo many sprites! No matter what I comment here it doesn't feel it'd do it justice. :) Amazing amount of work, and so much to look at. Don't recall if the last one was the same, but it's really like a museum too this time, which you take a tour through one pixel at a time... my favorite parts are most definitely the P-Bot Chamber and Tanks, though so many other both informative, comical and cryptic showcases around the building. The text just below the ground hmm... wonder if that's something it might be possible to decipher? Secret code? Also, seems you say 2 weeks in this description, and 2 months in the other one. :O Wonder which one's right? Looking at how much there is here I'd assume the latter, though holy shit that's a long time.

Definitely one, if not the, highlight of this year's pixel artistry! Happy Pixel Day!

Thanks. I'll update the description asap.

A mighty icon in pixel form! :D Snake not related to the level up procedure? How about the frog? Snail? Fish in your lap? Maybe those obstacles that need to be overcome to reach the next level, that keep seeping into the background, distractions, excess tasks, such stuff...

Really cool you actually made programs to make parts of the image, don't think I've ever heard of such things being done in the name of art before! Though the Mobius in the examples seem a lot more uneven than the one in the picture? Tweaked further before export, or modified in drawing after that...?

Love the texture, text and cubes in particular - all the orange stuff really stands out, and the centerpiece in its impeccable mobius frame... though think it would've been all the more pompous in gold? Also seeing as it seems like it's supposed to stand behind all other layers, it's a bit strange the floor actually goes in behind it, think it would've been perfect either as a gateway in the wall or as something floating in front of all... if so maybe with some form of pixel disturbance/effect to show the hovering.

Other than that: looks amazing! Great attention to detail, and fun to see the revisions it went through before its final form too. Happy Pixel Day!

Cyberdevil! Hey thanks man!

It's hard to articulate my decision to add a nature part of this, but it's related to the idea that when you take away the things that hold you back, you can be brought to a more peaceful, natural state of mind. I find feeling improved often goes hand-in-hand with this. Maybe this is not relatable to everyone though :)
On his feet are slippers - like bunny slippers. A fish would be super weird I think! :D

Yes the mobius things I linked to are re-coded shaders - an offshoot experiment. The original is made in Flash and looks like this:
https://www.newgrounds.com/dump/draw/62a0f25e1b55098aa299ffda01ff33e6
I just love making spinny things, and the challenge to make it in a shader was enticing.

A gold mobius frame would be nice as well, I agree! It was originally suppose to be dragons haha, but I thought I was starting to get ridiculous. In the end, I wanted it only to link the void to the background, so I chose to make it more of a transition than an object.
I would have liked to animate this piece, which would have helped with the effect you're talking about, but man I already spent too much time on it hahaha! Plus I wonder how would I animate the frog hovering there. x)

Thanks so much again! Happy Pixel Day to you too!

Such a fascinating trail of heat, and sun rays playing in the dim lit room, her leg dangling like a pendulum... such an ambient scene! Pixel perfect art and atmosphere.

Thank you, I'm glad you think it came out well.

A pretty cool loop, though it looks more like those horns are just traveling around the ball than it does the whole thing is spinning... and form seems somewhat strange for it to be a helmet... otherwise cool stuff!

SardonicSamurai responds:

Yea I feel the same; though I'm not sure how I could properly achieve the effect. :(

Seems like you did have a few others. :) Though the new one's the first with A rating, as far as I can tell! Form sure has been refined over the years too. Good sketch here, but not all as refined as the new one.

jessejayjones responds:

Thanks man! Still got lots to learn! ;)

She sure has changed! From black and white to color, to 3D, to these even more 3D-like lines in color that have become like a trademark of your style, all the while simplifying and refining, and getting smoother and smoother... interesting too how every other one's from the side, and the other's from the front. Probably a pattern selected for the montage, but if not: cool coincidence.

Interesting to see the change/evolution in a line like this! Nice work(s).

Thanks for the great feedback. I so appreciate that you see our desire to create our own unique style with use of color! It means a lot!

ice character art, smooth typography and background fade, though would probably have looked better if she continued on to the bottom of the canvas... either way looking good!
