Sounds/looks promising. :) Curious if this will be published here on NG too at that time? Is it an online game?

DidiEsmeralda responds:

Thanks Cyberdevil for your comment, it is not online game.

People are just way too judgemental these days. XD Nice one.

Btw whatever happened to that social distancing? They're really gathering together here...

ChazDude responds:

Not all comics have to be set in these trying times.

Atmospheric, creepy, dreamy... and in 3D too! So you can embed those huh. This was pretty impressive.

Curious about the poster behind the screen, is that something you have there in real life? Is any of this real life? All of it? Gotta love the details like toilet paper cart and penicorn plushie, that make you wonder all the more if any of this is how it really is...

Soupcat responds:

Yeah I had no idea you could embed it here. Super good job on Newgrounds. That aphex twin poster was just something I had laying around. I do love the band so I figured it be applicable to use it in this scene. And yes this is actually how I live. On wooden crates. On the floor. Totally.

Curious about some of those wall references now. XD Are they random or intentional I wonder? Some truth to the potential crazy? Feels like this went to a dimension beyond isometric too, the shape is... unconventionally angled. Good stuff.

LeeJayAnimation responds:

I wonder... 👀

Now this was awesome. :) Seems some of those creations are escaping though...

Curious about the background, and the almost Looney Toon-like intro vibe it has, is it meant to be a homage to that era`, and the creations like a new generation of creative work inspired by the one and only? Just happened to turn out that way? Looks good.

It was just a happy coincidence but it totally fits! Thanks for your insight! Perhaps it was a subconscious thing.

Everyone locked up in the Netherlands too? Well, we're still worryingly up and about over here but compared to the NG majority. All those in participation here...

It's a nice piece of an authentic looking room. Intriguing decor. Curious about the tribal mask and flowers? The blanket definitely comes across more realistic than most, and so much detail in a lot of the stuff, fascinated by all the cables in particular. Feels like the color scheme gives it somewhat of an old tone, but that's part of the charm too. Text style: spot on arcade-like. May not be the most visually appealing in all tones and forms, but definitely one of the more interesting and intricate. And nostalgic! When you grew up with these types of games. Interesting how just the colors feel so familiar, or if maybe it's also in part some of the shapes, pixels and isometric view...

Trying to catch a glimpse of what kind of building you see outside the window too, some kind of restaurant or theatre...?

Whirlguy responds:

I suppose I have a little way to go as a pixel artist. If you're seeing flowers, restaurants and theaters that's telling me I need to convey my pixels a little better. That's okay though, I'll get it right next time! The tribal mask you refer to is an item from the Legend of Zelda games which I made a replica of and it's now hanging up from my wall. The flowers you mentioned are probably the string of autumn leaves that I hung up on an unoccupied guitar hanger above my bed and the restaurant or theater isn't anything of the sort. I was thinking if I parked a car in front of the house the bricked streets wouldn't look like a building's wall anymore. Guess I was wrong about that hahaha. Next time I'll make sure to ask people what they see before I upload it. Just to make sure if they see what I intended them to see.

Yeah, we've locked down to prevent shit from getting out of hand. At least up until April 6th and then we'll reevaluate the situation. We're just trying to learn from Italy's mistakes. Thanks for the wonderful review my man :)

This was really nice! Feeling like the trees are a bit unrealistically blotchy, the sky shining through them, and the rocks a bit translucent, but colors and forms go well together... nice on the eye.

DevilRat responds:

I agree, then again I post-quartine, when I start getting my paychecks again. I will be able to actually work and buy cold-wax so I can thicken the paint. So I do not have to deal with as much translucent issues. Besides recently, I end up buying new acrylic brushes, because of I was needing a fan brush, and dedicated acrylic paint brushes. I enjoy acrylic over oil. Though today I just started the first layer of a painting. I am learning to work from dark to light in acrylic. It will take a way to dry so I can apply the second layer. I find it funny. I find myself working in different artistic mediums and art styles. I do notice a slight improvement in my traditional painting.... Including my digital art has improved dramatically. I kind of consider myself a mixed-media artist or just working in different artistic mediums all of the time.

Turns out it looks even cozier with color... not dystopian at all, but bright and cheery, with an air of dreamy pink and blue hue, all items seem to gain focus, only the WIP comic page seemingly phased out and more of an Easter egg... good stuff.

Fun to read about what was real or no in that previous message too.

Stuck at home making art and playing games with my wife by my side is a pretty sweet deal to me!
