Merry Christmas Nuswodahs!

Very nice portrait, bright and hopeful, yet with a winter-like flare to it too. Seasonally suitable and all. With the quote... was wondering if it was a depiction of Mary at first, but maybe not? She looks like she could be though. An embodiment of hope and spirit; one who brings good things into this world...

Nuswodahs responds:

Thank you so much. Not Mary, just a pretty picture. Something to visually enjoy for the holidays. I put a quote under all my artwork. This one is more related to the holidays.

Mmm, she seems like a relatable character. One with quirks and issues just like anyone, and habits to cope and deal with 'em.

The perspective looks good, natural and comfortable, but she doesn't just sink into the ground either, you can see it's still solid the way she angles her body...

Authentic-looking piece. With a lot of thought put into it it seems. Nice work.

Cursedpoptart89 responds:

Yeah, I thought that was the case. I need to find some better references when it comes to the sinking thing. Thanks for the comment. (I thought you were critiquing the way she was laying, my bad.)

Merry Christmas Winterveil! Nice piece here.

So much flare and sparkle in the air too, looking good!

Winterveil responds:

Thank you! Merry Christmas to you too!

Trying to read that expression hmm, it's like an inner radiance that can not be defined, like drugs, like imagination, like sleep, like the great awakening, like they just see right through you and this plane of being; see things as they truly are...

Could imagine this as a depiction of Mother Earth herself... or God. A radiance and knowing beyond this world radiating like a supernova... or an athlete on a very tiresome desert run?

Intriguing. Expression's like Mona Lisa's smile. Mystifies in the best way. And the entire thing IS an expression. So alive.

Love the detailed analysis my friend, I was just dicking around with color palettes, blending modes, and portrait practicing. Shucks, making me blush lol

Carmine's looking feisty too! All that gloss on the suit, almost looks like latex... could she be a... dominatrix? :P

Nice work!

Finasty responds:

My artstyle has some sort of gloss in it
Edit: Infact, my artstyle comes with different references (even coloring too) that's why you see gloss on the outfits

Same OC as in your avatar? Can't tell for sure, seems like a potential chibi version of this one there... she does look a bit like Bulma too. :P

Whomever she is she do look good! Feisty form, pose that feels alive, smooth line work, fireworks turned out well too, though could've maybe had a few more in the mix? The one to the bottom right looks a little alone there. :)

Happy New Year Finasty! Good stuff.

Finasty responds:

Yes, the one that's is in my profile pictures

I just can only make the fireworks just like explosion like that and doesn't know the rest, bcoz that's my first time doing it, like the splatter thingy for fireworks

Thanks for checking my art :)

I think I recognize this dragon hmm... took me a while to place it as the one of the movie though! Looks a little like Mushu from Mulan too.

And again you have a very different kind of style here... nice work on the scale details, and shading that makes all body parts look a bit like plates, chiseled; shielding, good form for a dragon. A dreamy landscape in back, a hopeful sun peeking through a mist of imagination...

Really cool scene. The detail's impressive on all parts, tree roots too, realistic clouds... nothing feels left out here. And the style... almost like a tribal painting somehow. Something from older times. Works well with the theme.

tobne responds:

Yeahh haha, it was mostly in the side show for the movies anyways! Wouldn't blame you for not getting it immediately, not like it isn't a Nadder or Night Fury off the top XD
Ohh it does look like Mushu now that you mention it!

Yeah! This is my style I had/have before the one I've been using for the Behemoth styled art! Lineless is such a wonderful challenge to work with. Awhh man you compliment my art so much it's amazing :sob:

Dude thank you so so much!! You really made my day! :D

This style of coloring, woah... so smooth and vibrant and purple on the right, so much noise/texture/raster and sandpaper color on the left side... masterful clash of styles and motives here. I don't know about the expressions and all but the drawing's so good...

Royal-Deluxe responds:

I'm squashing her face, that's why she looks weird

Is a beak a mouth hmm. Had to Google... a beak, a bill, or a rostrum is the nose and mouth of a bird. Ah. It terminologically qualifies.

Interesting arrangement here, though gory indeed. Carcass huh, I'm a have a listen sometime.

TheMiamiDeSantos responds:

Thanks! Carcass is a very heavy band, old school grindcore/death metal, fast, low-fi haha, i love that band, the cover of their 1988 album "Reek of Putrefaction" is a big inspiration for me, it's aesthetic, after you take a look at the cover you will remember of some of my stuff haha https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSzVyxlhq4o

It kiiinda bounces? :P Seems like that butt's a little too tense/unwilling to be slapped, or the GIF speed a bit too fast and makes the bounce shorter than would be ideal, but otherwise smooth!

-cd-

TheMiamiDeSantos responds:

yeah i think it's too fast indeed, i think i used as a reference a butt in a jeans being slapped while a butt showing more skin should bounce more. Thanks for the heads up!
