On the European front, however, things are looking rather heated. I’ve heard Russia’s already being charged with war crimes, impressive considering it’s only been a week but not quite that surprising.
That it has been yeah, potential worldwide war and turmoil and all, it's scary how fast things can potentially escalate all over with just the one confrontation...
Yeah they really went all in, I'm not surprised about the charge, though I wonder if that'll really have an impact on anything. Is anyone in the world in a position to really drag them to trial? Would Putin go willingly? I feel like somehow the world still underestimates Russia...
Can you believe we're three months into '22 and Ukraine defending itself 'gainst Russia?

Might've been last year yes, Russia had a gigantic forest fire too then but apparently they have them every year - we rarely speak of those, even less now of course.
And before that the pandemic, and forest fires in California, in Sweden too, and hurricane seasons worse than before in Florida...
Starts feeling like a pretty drastically dystopian progression when you let yourself slow down and observe sometimes, and yet you go outside and it just looks normal after all. I wonder if we're just more exposed to every new catastrophe via the mainstream media these days; if it's always been like this, but our mindset's changed; we're so more easily stirred and influenced now. But maybe the world really is starting to break apart. Like mother nature's brewing a fever to rid itself of this human plague...
Yeah I think I was 13 or 14 when I joined. :) It's something ain't it! Stumbling upon old kin OGs such as yourself invokes a similar spike of hope and optimism at least! Cheers to that!
in my case the first few months were unproductive, i spent most days doing almost nothing but browsing randomly while gazing at the screen with lost focus, they are probably realizing world peace by creating a tired and weak generation that could barely lift a finger, i know this because i am a victim to it, well in a way...
Mmm, I wonder sometimes if the technology we use - at least a part of it - was actually engineered to make us more apathetic; willing to lead a life devoid of freedom and control... started out this year pretty well myself but I've had some really stagnant months lately. Just so tired. Need to focus.

Bo Burnham a year younger even, man, when I see celebrities under my own age I wonder what I'm doing with my time... good line though. Seems like a better way to view the world than one of worry. Reminds me of some interview between unknown parties I was listening to recently, where one of them jokingly mentioned that since we're totally destroying the world anyway we might as well enjoy the time we have here! And maybe that's the only way. The futility of a change that entirely turns all around seems apparent. But then again I'd like to leave this world knowing I did some good too; did what I could too. Tough call hmm, it's like the whole saving and spending thing I suppose, ideally you'll find a balance where you both have some backup funds and actually enjoy the life you lead as well...
