I was surfing the net today when I stumbled upon a Warez site. I had never been there before, and the thought of being able to download hundreds of millions of applications and other interesting mediums of entertainment indulged me, so I clicked the link, signed up with a fake email and a new strange username and started browsing through the files available. I stumbled upon this one file called SFH27J and downloaded it on a whim. I had no idea what it was, but I fired it up anyway. A little console opened up full of numbers and phrases and things I did not understand flashing upwards at the speed of light. I continued browsing the web while running the little program in the background, not bothered by the malicious code it might be spewing out. My Internet connection seemed slower than usual, but that didn't bother me at all. I logged onto FaceBook and a JS prompt appeared asking me if I'd like to delete the user database. I was surprised, but I thought, wth, and I clicked "OK". I refreshed the page and a simple SQL error appeared where there should have been a modern interactive social community interface. The user database has been deleted, permanently. Don't believe me? Go and see for yourself. ;) I never liked FaceBook anyway . . .

Until I'm on again, in, hmm ... 46 days. Why 46 days?
Figure it out and I'll dedicate my next flash submission to you. ;P

No doubt you've heard about the Windows 7 GodMode hack, so there's really no reason for me to tell you about. What? You haven't? Ok then, I'll let you in on this neat secret feature recently revealed. If you're running Windows Vista (32 bit version only, don't try this on the 64 bit VISTA version or things will crash) or Windows 7 (either 32 & 64-Bit), just create a new folder and label it:

GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712 043E01C}

Actually you can change the GodMode to anything you like, it still works fine, but without the GodMode it really doesn't seem so stunning anymore. So, give it the name:

YourStunningTitleOfChice.{ED7BA470-8E5 4-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

and POOF it suddenly gains a nice blue icon and you will find links to every single setting on your Windows system upon opening the folder. None of these links are secret, they can all be accessed by the standard control panel and other varied subdirectories, but it might still be useful to have everything gathered in one location, maybe, not really. Anyhow, I think a quote by Steve Sinchak fits in nicely below, so here you go:

The feature is not actually even called God Mode but All Tasks. Since the All Tasks feature is simply a shell folder you can access it a few different ways. The most direct method is to open up Explorer and type in shell:::{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712 043E01C} in the address bar and hit Enter. Alternatively, create a folder and name it anything.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-9971 2043E01C}.

There, that's all the information you need.

Woke up late as usual, but the sun was shining today so I ventured outside for a midday walk. There's a bird tower by the lake, and I was on my way there plowing through a thick layer of snow when I found a little creek in my way. The ice was visible and didn't really seem thick enough to carry me, but I thought I'd test it a bit and so I stepped out on what I thought was the edge to feel the ice with one foot. Turns out it wasn't the edge though, and I plummeted straight through with water up to my waist, my feet on a bottom ledge. I quickly crept up backwards and jogged home, took a warm shower after struggling to get my boots off and am now sitting here by the computer with a cup of warm tea and a story to tell. I'm happy it's not much below zero at the moment, and that the weather is nice and sunny, would probably have caught a big cold if it was, as it was now I didn't need to catch anything but my breath when I reached the door. Didn't feel cold at all while jogging home either, but in the shower my legs starting itching like crazy warming up, must've been numbed out or something. I had a camera bag in a lower pocket too, flooded, I had just minutes before the ice crushing placed the new camera in a jacket pocket, so it survived, lucky!! It was a morally enriching experience, I suppose, and good exercise, so all in all it's been a fun and adventurous day. :)

Recently managed to get a hold on this game, so I thought I'd try it out. Judging by covers and other medial elements it seemed pretty good, but I've played a lot of crappy racing games recently, so I wasn't too overly exited about it. I pop up the game window and WHAM it runs over me like a raging bull, like a terrifying tyhoon, ripping old one hundred year old oak treas clean out of the ground and shredding people to pieces, traps me in an empty vortex where no time exists for 49 minutes (was only planning to spend five while taking a break from other more important activities). Needless to say so, I think I found a new favorite game! :D

The amount of tracks you can play is stunning, and there's a fair share of cars too, which you can paint according to your liking or switch built-in themes on. Tracks are divided up into different game modes. There's puzzle, stunt, platform & racing, and I think the different modes pretty much explain themselves. In each mode there are a number of flags ranging from white to some other color (maybe red), a total of at least five for each mode. With each flag comes a new set of tracks, all nicely divided up into different themes (winter, desert, etc). The amount of tracks vary between game modes, but if we take racing as an example, there are maybe ten themes with four tracks each, under one flag. So alltogether, that should be at least 200 tracks just in racing mode!! Quick note, racing mode has the most tracks, but still, that's an amazing amount of tracks! And as if that wasn't enough, the game is divided up into three separate worlds, so that's 200×3 ... just for racing. On each track you can gain either a bronze, a silver or a gold medal. Bronze is easy to get, Silver is easy to get as long as you don't crash, Gold is a symbol of a perfect run - no crashes - no wasted corners - no *insertqualificationofchoicehere*. A new track within the current theme is unlocked each time you earn bronze, and it's easy to earn, so the achievement system works great, and even if you play track after track aiming at only bronze the game will guarantee you at least a few days of great gaming.

But why end it there? The main feature of the game is online. You can race against other people on the standard tracks, you can download usermade tracks, you can make your own tracks easily with the builtin editor and upload them too! If you can't get online, you can play over a LAN with a bunch of friends, or locally using the same computer (a feature I miss in most racing games for PC). The interface is smooth, controls are easy, handling is realistic enough, and fun, a good balance, the graphics are good in a friendly threedimensional manner and the game runs fast even with the crappy video/graphic cards I have. It's the perfect example of a game made compatible with virtually all systems, with virtually all the features a game within it's genre would need. If you're looking for brutal Flatout style racing or blazing fast Need For Speed mode, this is not what you are looking for. It's more like .... Mario Cart, but without the weapons, it's just a fun wellmade timewaster in racing format, for any amount of players using any amount of computers. I'll leave it alone until the weekend, but when the weekend arrives, woo, time to get Gold on everything ... and invite some buddies over to playday.

Btw, the tracks are relatively short, but the surrounding enviornment is vast, and you can drive all over it outside the racetrack if you feel the urge to ... not that it's much fun. If you drive long enough, you'll eventually reach the end, and it looks something like this:

Trackmania United Forever

Rise and shine!
Like cereal, real hunger killer.
All grain all filler.
No need for fiber.
My time is iller.
I dive with pliers.
Down under still earth.
The fridge won't budge.
You be the judge.
Is it just too full of food.
Or too thick layers of unplied dust.
I think I must.
Write just a few lines before.
I download comics, take a walk.
And on my studies progress more.
