I was surfing the net today when I stumbled upon a Warez site. I had never been there before, and the thought of being able to download hundreds of millions of applications and other interesting mediums of entertainment indulged me, so I clicked the link, signed up with a fake email and a new strange username and started browsing through the files available. I stumbled upon this one file called SFH27J and downloaded it on a whim. I had no idea what it was, but I fired it up anyway. A little console opened up full of numbers and phrases and things I did not understand flashing upwards at the speed of light. I continued browsing the web while running the little program in the background, not bothered by the malicious code it might be spewing out. My Internet connection seemed slower than usual, but that didn't bother me at all. I logged onto FaceBook and a JS prompt appeared asking me if I'd like to delete the user database. I was surprised, but I thought, wth, and I clicked "OK". I refreshed the page and a simple SQL error appeared where there should have been a modern interactive social community interface. The user database has been deleted, permanently. Don't believe me? Go and see for yourself. ;) I never liked FaceBook anyway . . .

Until I'm on again, in, hmm ... 46 days. Why 46 days?
Figure it out and I'll dedicate my next flash submission to you. ;P

No doubt you've heard about the Windows 7 GodMode hack, so there's really no reason for me to tell you about. What? You haven't? Ok then, I'll let you in on this neat secret feature recently revealed. If you're running Windows Vista (32 bit version only, don't try this on the 64 bit VISTA version or things will crash) or Windows 7 (either 32 & 64-Bit), just create a new folder and label it:

GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712 043E01C}

Actually you can change the GodMode to anything you like, it still works fine, but without the GodMode it really doesn't seem so stunning anymore. So, give it the name:

YourStunningTitleOfChice.{ED7BA470-8E5 4-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

and POOF it suddenly gains a nice blue icon and you will find links to every single setting on your Windows system upon opening the folder. None of these links are secret, they can all be accessed by the standard control panel and other varied subdirectories, but it might still be useful to have everything gathered in one location, maybe, not really. Anyhow, I think a quote by Steve Sinchak fits in nicely below, so here you go:

The feature is not actually even called God Mode but All Tasks. Since the All Tasks feature is simply a shell folder you can access it a few different ways. The most direct method is to open up Explorer and type in shell:::{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712 043E01C} in the address bar and hit Enter. Alternatively, create a folder and name it anything.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-9971 2043E01C}.

There, that's all the information you need.

Woke up late as usual, but the sun was shining today so I ventured outside for a midday walk. There's a bird tower by the lake, and I was on my way there plowing through a thick layer of snow when I found a little creek in my way. The ice was visible and didn't really seem thick enough to carry me, but I thought I'd test it a bit and so I stepped out on what I thought was the edge to feel the ice with one foot. Turns out it wasn't the edge though, and I plummeted straight through with water up to my waist, my feet on a bottom ledge. I quickly crept up backwards and jogged home, took a warm shower after struggling to get my boots off and am now sitting here by the computer with a cup of warm tea and a story to tell. I'm happy it's not much below zero at the moment, and that the weather is nice and sunny, would probably have caught a big cold if it was, as it was now I didn't need to catch anything but my breath when I reached the door. Didn't feel cold at all while jogging home either, but in the shower my legs starting itching like crazy warming up, must've been numbed out or something. I had a camera bag in a lower pocket too, flooded, I had just minutes before the ice crushing placed the new camera in a jacket pocket, so it survived, lucky!! It was a morally enriching experience, I suppose, and good exercise, so all in all it's been a fun and adventurous day. :)
