Gotta love that jazzy vibe. Was expecting a bit more of the jazzy when it started out but it moves onto a bit more melodic/pattern-based ambiance it seems...

Wonder if the tone's maybe a little too muddled somehow? Like the ambiance could come out a bit more with clarity? But good vibes.

An official F-o-D anthem? :) It's definitely got the right kind of weirdness, and the right kind of build, a consistent flow, tenacious background synth and kick that cartwheels in and starts bringing up expectations... one final stretch of shimmering stalactite-like wonder too, what a strange but awesome sidetrack that bit was. Fades out a bit fast but almost/sort of loops...

I could vibe to this for some time. If it is an anthem: feels suitable. Though feels like it could also be just not all too seriously titled? Good stuff either way!

Maybe not my anthem lol but I feel like lately I've been needing to represent myself better. I've been having trouble relating myself to my online stuff. I always feel like I don't know who the fuck I even am. I gotta find myself and get motivation to learn more about music, because right now I feel like I could learn so much more than I know now. I keep telling myself to get my life together and feel like I'm not going anywhere. Life has a way of kicking you down a lot and I'm getting tired of it. So hopefully I can take hold and realize the good things I have done in my life and try my best not to beat myself up over dumb ass shit.

In regard to newer games it seems like the majority is, and probably has been the last few years, HTML5. So maybe this change won't have as large an impact on the regular user as we assumed it might. Maybe specifically with certain iconic; classic games, but I feel like a lot of them will probably just fade out of the public eye a bit... for now. Hopefully Ruffle brings them back. Maybe breathes some more life into the community again when/if people start going here in particular to relive those glory days and find some old; familiar nostalgia.

Unfortunately a lot of the new stuff does require webGL support to run properly though, which at least my GPU does not have. Lotsa lag. In contrast Flash games still run flawlessly... except when they now run via Ruffle, since Ruffle in part also requires webGL, which my GPU doesn't have. :/ Alas... though it seems that particular bit might get tweaked in the future. Major issues now and optimizations when everything's working.

Sounds like you're really getting by on scraps lately though, though beverages/nicotine-based relaxants: bound to amount to a fair share of $$$ long-term I guess? Hope things start looking up though. It's cool to hear at least there are friendlies out there; a certain sense of community.

And you really have the perfect voice and competent verbal aptitude for this kind of content! Plus quality recording equipment. Wouldn't mind hearing more. About some of all those as of yet unsaid things mayhaps.

Yea MS snuck the Flash kill switch on my badly outdated Win 7 OS, I've got the stand-alone player, but I can't play Drawing Grounds or do other Flashy stuff on Newgrounds. Sucks ass. When I get time I'll go thru things, either get webGL on here or updated... wouldn't mind more comprehensive NG Wikis on the subject(s)

[(DEMO) Lonely Night Solo Session]

Instrumentals are getting better! :D Great bass. Got some Green Day vibes in the beginning, or maybe Vice City vibes, Nirvana vibes...? Not sure what vibes exactly but got some vibes. Bloodhound Gang, possibly...?

I love the instrumental. Feels thorough. Soft, rhythmic, good melody, a bit more intensity where it matters. Fits the theme too. Felt like the chorus had potential too, pretty catchy, good structure, but lyrics overall hmmm maaaan not sure. XD Few rhymes. Not as much attention on structure/syllables/following the melody. Theme does follow the Rod of Danger™ franchise style though.

With a bit more polished vocal performance I feel this would be pretty good to listen to regardless though. Works with the style, just not as smooth as possible IMO. Keep it up!

Yeah I def had Green Dick and Nirvanass in my mind when making this. I feel like I'm personally pleased with the last two verses, but yeah, the first one doesn't rhyme enough, the vocals were completely improvised and so was the bassline....so I could have done better is what I'm saying. I think the instrumental is finished even, I don't even wanna change it at all or re-record it because it feels perfect to me. I labeled it as "Demo" because I wanna re-do lyrics and vocals.

[SC904 - Where The Space Is]

Straight back to the eighties! :D With a hint of spacey and strange to go with it... reminds me a bit of classics like 'You Take My Self Control' and... I can't remember any others but feels like that era. :) I love the style, and nostalgia, and spacey vibe of it all... hypnotic kind of synth too.

The kick around 1:35 stands out a bit strangely to me, but apart from that this is awesome. Feels like maybe it could've shifted a bit, changed pace or pattern or in some other way morphed a bit along the way - would've gone well with the space theme - in the end I feel like it's missing something. Maybe vocals...? Though maybe that'd break the theme too. Hmm. Would love to hear this in a soundtrack though either way. Imagine this in any kind of space/action/sci-fi thing. Great work.

Heard this via the Retro Collab, and what a perfect part it played there too. :) Apparently made for a game as well hmm, further research seems to be required... great work.

Seems all the more impressive that it's all from scratch too. In this sample-heavy age of the now.

Thank you for the comment. It wasn't made for a game, but was used by a game-maker here on NG as background music to their game of the same name, Boxclever.

Always been a "from scratch" kinda guy;) I never liked using samples of any sort. Sure, I've used the odd thing here and there over the years, but primarily my ethos is DYI.

This turned out so good! :D Foreboding in an epic kind of way... a long build but never montone either, those orchestral elements are really all over the place, impressive attention to detail along the way. It's like you constantly expect something to jump up on you as you listen to this...

The way it speeds up and trickles away a bit at the end too... just perfect. Title too. ;)
