Not a bad first podcast at all! This was more of what I was expecting when I listened to the second one, pre-vote-time and all. Good mixture of personal and political, as always you have plenty of tales to tell inbetween the opinions. Can't comment on much of the politics, but it was interesting to hear. Feels like you don't really need any audio editing with this either, the sound quality's not bad, no pops or noticeable static (and decent volume). With the loudness wars people keep turning the gains to high and clipping certain frequencies, but all you need to do is turn up the volume if the sound's too low. Anyway, thanks for making this, and looking forward to more! Scripting might keep the red line better, but I like the pace otherwise, it's comfortable and easy to follow. Stays interesting all the way, and ends well. Also meant to comment on that intro in the second one: pretty neat addition there.

I just went down the Wikipedia list, and went back to some mental notes I made before recording. I'll make a better effort to get the audio levels balanced next time, and yeah, sure didn't want to make the mistake of going gain/volume overboard, I get enough of that kinda sound from online gaming over a headset!

Really appreciate the thorough review, and your time spent in listening to this :3

So you got started with these podcasts after all! :) It wasn't as long and informative as I expected, this one, but some concise info in there anyway, and a motivation before that grand event. You certainly have a voice for this stuff too. Looking forward to more; revelationary things to follow!

Thanks for the decent review, always appreciated! Yeah there sure could've been a lot more pros and cons listed, but towards the final days of the campaign I got a bit nervous she'd buy her way into the White House, with other people's money and influence.

Pretty bad-ass track! The style reminds me a bit of the Prodigy (Firestarter, mostly), but it's got a vibe of its own for sure. Keeps evolving and warping through the emotions too, and it's got a touch of rock along with the dubstep. Sounds awesome!!

thank you

Ah, you posted this here as well! A somber, senseful and sensationally ambient atmospheric track! Builds up the mood nicely, though it all ends... so soon.

Hehe, glad you liked it. It's a shame... it was for a competition and the MAX length for submissions was 30 seconds. I'd really have loved it to go on for longer. 30 seconds is not long enough for much!

Another smooth and atmospheric piece! Nice work.

Thanks!

Smooth, subtle, beautiful ambience! Like a shorter, smaller, quieter alternation on The Other Side. Also really like this sound.

larrynachos responds:

Really? I was trying to make it bigger and wider. I honestly thought this blew the other side out of the water.

Really like the shift in this one, when it all slows down, and gets heavier and heavier and heavier... gravity increases. Tension amasses. The mood sets in. I was starting to think that maybe things just can't feel very dark with the synthwave genre, but this proves me wrong. Got a pretty eerie/heavy feel to it towards the end. Probably my favorite so far.

Glad you could look past the clipping and poor mastering. This is my personal favorite as well :D

The star sound sings like a voice in this. Bright, melodic, yet though the drop seems to come on time and time again... it never happens!! Sounds great, but like a little something's missing.

I really dropped the ball with the drops. I thought a minimalist approach would be appropriate, but I guess I was wrong lol. I'm still really happy with the intro though. I probably should have just expanded on that part more lol.

With the wavy sound I can feel the water, but not really the darkness of it all. It feels bright and transparent, smooth and beautiful, like I'm rising from the abyss towards a shimmering light playing on the surface... listening to a serenade of mermaids, seeing colorful school of fish as I pass by a massive colorful coral rising through the dark... an imaginative track! Subtle, but still uplifting.

Pretty trippy, but smooth and suitable. It all floats together nicely. Feels like music that could've been in a Mario game... or not. Not really. Just a similar style. Really like the industrial background beat too, and the flute... for a while. Favorite part's probably the jumpy synth around 1:50, and the dubstep that came after that... doesn't really flow with the rhythm I feel. Think that part could've synced better, just doesn't really match, but overall: great!

I don't see anything wrong with the bass articulations. Listening again, they might sound like they come in a split second too late, but honestly I think it's fine or even better that way. A little imperfection to keep things human.
