Extra background layers for visual nostalgia popping effect huh. :D I like the style, the wavy eyes, the missing teeth... creatively wonky and olskool somehow. And with a very 3D looking un a la Xiao Xiao.

A somber looking Tankman sitting on the tank there, and he seems so small from that upward angle too, a lonely Tankman, even the background rays are kinda grayed down; not as bright as the traditional colors depict...

The form's good but I wonder if the style's intentionally... melancholy? It's a little dark somehow, not what I'd expect from the franchise... cool homage otherwise.

A funky depiction of the one and only! Feels simple at a first glance but when you start looking at shading at all it's interesting how much there is still, you make it seem effortless...

Really smooth work; polished details. Background fits in nicely too.
