Heeey and something a little spiffier for the occasion! :D I would've taken her for an ant if you didn't say something though! If only cockroaches looked this good too. Happy Halloween man!

Yeeeah, its a smidge hard to tell from the front. All the cockroachie designs are on her back!
Happy Halloween to you as well!
Solid work on this one! Smooth form, swift lines and stylish composition. Simple background and outline for optimal focus too. It's the common way to do it but: works so well. Really nice.

Thanks!
Yeah this was meant to be short, simple, and rough. Just to get a feel for the character, but give her a little pop too y'know? Nothing crazy.
I want to redraw her sometime when I am able to again.
Its not the most polished looking in the long run, but I like when folks use rougher lines for the most part. Feel like it adds some character and texture.
Overall glad she looks alright, and hope I did my friend's design justice.
A masterful collage of character and colors all intertwined! :D Not sure about the basic glow, and I think the text could stand out a bit better, but as for the rest: looks awesome. Great forms and all.

Ahh I'm glad!
This was a labor of love I had been putting off for faaaar too long.
Honestly what you mentioned were my biggest issues as well.
The glowish effect was mostly so the characters would stand out. Since the background was pitch black along with some of the characters assets, was worried they'd be lost on the viewer otherwise. Its not a great fix but felt it got the job done. That being said though, I know it could be much better and would love nothing more than to fix it up. The solution just has been escaping me.
The text too, struggled long and hard how to just fit it in. I did notice though that it definitely started to blend in as it got scaled down. Its the other aspect where the outline helped some, but isn't the best fix. I really want to go back and work on that too. The lettering itself was a whole other project!
It was working in a whole lot of new things though and definitely will say it was a huge learning experience.
Really enjoying the detail on this one! So much work with the lines and all, and a beastly design too. Imagining how this would look all colored in... but maybe the detail comes across best like this. Looks awesome.
-cd-
This one was super fun too.
The ones where you just kind of get lost doing it. Its a nice feeling that's all too fleeting.
I'd love to see it colored and rendered, but yeah I kinda agree. I don't know how it would look since it was never the intent. Always been a big fan of just pen and ink and definitely want to do more like this. More of a just seeing how armor layering works and how to fit a creature inside that seems convincing to a degree.
Only thing about it is its hard to tell in the guidelines if this would be polished enough to submit, since this is the finished product. Because I'd definitely like to! Was a good few hours of work but I don't want to step on any toes.
If only ants looked so good. XD Smooth design, solid work on the shading (purple too... works so well - I've got to try that some time), with a refreshing green background to boot The yellow swirl... feels like you want to know where that's coming from, but overall this looks great. Another nice one.
-cd-
Its a super cute game too, you can feel the love that's going into it.
That aside, glad most of it looks good! Was worried that with the ant being greenish/yellow that the background might be too samey? Has hoping the purple shading made her pop so with luck it has.
The yellow swirl in the upper left was mostly to keep folk's eyes from leaving the canvas. More of a bandaid though than a fix in this regard admittedly. Simply came to not having any idea of what to put up there since it was a huge empty space. Maybe it would have been better though to leave it empty. I think it was the last thing added to this and took a loooong bout of consideration to do so or not.
This is some pretty stylish work with this one! :D Solid work with the shading and shapes in particular. The vectors feel polished and purposeful, and the only bit that sticks out a bit (as in could possibly be better) is that energy... apart from somewhat simple form I'm wondering if maybe a stronger color could've been nicer, but overall: looks great. Nice work.
-cd-
I'm glad it overall looks alright!
Its not a theme or style I attempt often, but have a huge love for. Definitely want to do more with the other characters from this story once I'm able to again.
The energy/fire was a bit difficult to get to look satisfactory. Its the general idea I was going for but I can definitely see how it could stick out ( or blend in too much due to it being more warm colors ).
Mind if I ask for any suggestions to try out next chance I'm able? If its not too much trouble of course!
Thanks for all the input!
Swaying up with the stars hmm... that's a pretty spectacular angle. Smooth colors, textures and all. Looking good.

A large array of alternate deaths for each day of the month huh. XD Reminds me of Goshy Aoyama's little introductory images in the Detective Conan manga... but that can't possibly be an inspiration can it? Either way this was pretty neat. Nice work the details, and fun to look at it in a collective poster-like piece like this! Speaking of: this COULD actually be a poster. Don't think it's a kind I'd have on my wall but... format works pretty well. Alternative ideas for calenders come to mind hmm...
-cd-
Gotta read the original now. XD That clown hmm... looks devious!
-cd-
But... no clown shoes allowed? Not really catching the joke but hmm, it could've gone somewhere. Also that speech bubble looks a lot like that shoe...
-cd-
well i didnt intentionally make it to look like shoes haha
