Ferocious, yet beastly beautiful. Claws, corsette and everything. Great work!

Any plans on making a card game outta characters like this, or is this a one-time background? I'd pay for a deck of cards with motives like these, a full set with 42 unique ones would be... sublime! Personally I'd think a white background would look better, outside the edges, but as far as the character art goes it's great, sensual and possessive, demoniacally delicious. Keep it going!

That a real tail? :P Tis a beautiful artwork, I like the way the character stands out on the grungy background, the color scheme's both sinister and sensual, and the kitty character critter... looks great. Keep at it!

Beautiful. Sparkly, colorful, charismatic, stylish and slutty all in the same piece. I like the slanted angle too, it adds motion to the image. Great work!

Ryuko's hair in the upper part looks a bit off, flat somehow, and the other girl (can't remember names argh) has rather uncharacteristic eyes, especially in that lower close-up. Them details, this aint like you Shadman! :P But apart from that minor stuff, it looks great.

Dat ass! It's a foreboding artwork this one, the character, the wolfs, the snow, the sniper... all effectual and visually appealing. Keep it going!

So this was the first Shadling artwork ever posted here.... times sure have changed since then! There's not even a... oh wait, there is a naked chick tattooed on his arm, times werent so different after all! :D I like the grittiness of this piece, gritty colors, gritty people, gritty everything. It's violent and melodramatic in and oldskool way. Nice work.

A lot better than a whole lot of other somethings too! Really nice mesh of colors, and an interesting set of patterns in the background too. It's creepy, but still not dark, artistic and interesting. Nice work!

If I didn't know this was a painting, it'd be easy to mistake for a photo with a filter. The fur on the cat is particularly realistic. It looks like you're using brushes for blotches of fur (?) rather than individual strands, but it works well, the colors blend together nicely as does the overall texture. Especially the back and top of head looks perfect, and the eye really glitters until you zoom in (looking closely that border around the eye gives it away) but the 'beard' feels unnaturally large or brushy when compared to the rest of the cat. The left eye is so hidden it almost seems forgotten, until you zoom in. I guess this might have something to do with how the fur on the eyelid floats together perfectly with the rest of the face. I wonder if it does this in reality too?

The covers and wall look good, but they aren't quite as realistic as the critter. Lines and shades are all fuzzy here, and it's clear that parts a painting. Looks good though, and sorry about the cat. Keep up the good work!

AZSniperFox responds:

Thank you for your review. The cat had only one eye in life as it was surgically removed due to a rather nasty infection that occurred before we found him. Yet I will keep your critique in mind when working with fur.

I think it looks good, though as for being realistic... my initial though is that some facial features are either way under or over proportion. The nose and lips specifically stand out a bit much, as if it was a fishface photo effect. The nostrils on the nose seem unnaturally symmetrical and not in proportion to the rest of the nose. The jaws stand out a bit much right under the ears, and there seems to be a sliver of left-over color here.

Otherwise the shapes are nicely defined, overall the skin has a very smooth surface texture that reminds me of claymation. It looks great, but I think it lacks realism in how there are no defects, no oddities on the skin other than shade or shape, lack of texture maybe. That and the proportions. If you'd want to draw caricatures then this style is definitely worth building on though!

But back to realism... the glow on the adams apple is a bit much, the shade under the lower lip makes it seem like the jawbone is misaligned or something, near the shirt it's light all the way around, and near the hair there's a sliver of light where there could be shadow. It looks great otherwise, and the way you mix colors on the skin rather than use the same tone for all of them is great. The clothing texture looks very realistic, just missing some kind of texture around the collar. Hair looks great, albeit a bit overly neat near the hairline, eyebrows seem too solid, and the eyes have strangely beige whites. You could work on making the pupils a bit more lifelike as well, but that's definitely the hardest part.

Overall it looks good, but since you asked for critique... I'm trying to find all the flaws I can. :) it's a great start, looking forward to future work!
