She held the box
In a tender white hand
Innoccent and unknowing
About our trade with demand
Her face was puzzled
She showed no signs of fear
Her hand raised towards the lid
And the end was near
And she opened the box
Out came a white fox
Out came chickenpox
A cane with loud clocks
Ships crowded at the docks
Cars filled the streets
In our empty fridges
There was no food to eat
And the world sank deep
Into hell and fire
The devil arose
And he just rose higher
By Rosemarys school
There sang a silent quire
So I greatly admire
My panelpadded floor.
