I discovered MediaFire sometime last year, a great file hosting website for those of you who don't know it. The big ones like MegaUpload & RapidShare have always been there in front of everything, and the other common runner ups like zShare, HotFiles, DepositFiles, etcetc - but MediaFire was new to me, and it was (and is still) the absolutely best file uploading service I can find. They don't allow more than 100MB per file, but still, unlimited uploads - account to go with that - the ability to share files or keep them private, and no download queues at all (that's where they rise above RapidShare & MegaUpload & all others by like %300)! No visible ads either, and fast servers, it just goes WOOSH and then you have your file - uploaded or downloaded, same amazing speed.
So as I said, I found FileFactory, a site that allowed 300MB uploads and gives registered users 100GB storage space, this can easily be divided up into folders, and the speed is fantastic here as well. They show more ads, but otherwise they are a great alternative to MediaFire. I use both of these sites, and on the second one, as the post below states, I'm now hosting a directory of movies. There is one thing that bothers me, and it shouldn't be bothering me, it's the upload speed. The site is so resource demanding that I can't access any other websites while uploading my files. This is a good thing, the files get uploaded quicker and I get to practice spending time offline for a change, but still, it would be nice being ableto translate something - or search for something - or post a blog - like this (had to wait one hour and a half until I got to post this post, files worth 1GB uploaded, and my ISP caps the upload at 100 kbps or lower). So yeah, here's a post for promotion. If you haven't been there, sign up! And use my referal URL while you're at it. ;)
Two great file hosting sites than, and there are probably more of them, anyone care to share links?
