Aww...
Lucky.

The strange-place-with-green-rainbows -and-scaled-unicorns-slithering-u p-the-spines-of-dark-mountains part? Indeed! :)

Congratulation for having reached 200 fans! :D

Thanks!

Say, you gonna finish your NG users pic? You might as well paint out my name... but, a question? Is that really Evark, with the beard? Man, what a cool dude, he bought cigars (so did Luis) and wore a huge grin!

Assuming the people chatting at the time were a reliable bunch, that should be Evark. :) Will get that picture done now btw, how about you, did you get any evidence of your existence yet?

...it's like I was never there. Self conscious of my balding, pony-tailed self, I wore different hats, to be donated to the Mystery Boxes. A few of my friends said they saw me passing by, and once or twice in full view of the camera...

Then someone, somewhere, must have seen you. O_o

Maybe I turned into a vampire! Should've made it a point to have someone snap me, while standing next to Tom :P At least I got a family portrait of Fulp clan, that was cool beans.

Better eat some garlic and find out! Neato indeed, even without Wade. :P

You got 202 fans. congrat

Thanks!

Happy late Pico Day! :D

It was a Happy Day! :D

are you the only black guy in sweden? or do you just sound black?

~2012

I sound black? There are plenty of black guys in Sweden though.

Say, I just saw the Top 100 reviewers thread... wow, you need to have over 1000 reviews to be up there, huh? Then why am I in the Top 50 on NG Logs (238 reviews)? Are there really that many people who don't use NG Logs??

Yeah, the NG Logs isn't always very accurate. Only people who signed in recently are listed, so old users with plenty of stats won't appear, and there are probably plenty who don't know about it. The Top 100 Reviewers List might not be completely accurate either since new additions have to be added manually.

I lurked your comments to jakbaronking... it's a great accomplishment to 100% GTA 3 sir, I commend your vigilance!! GTA 1 and 3 were the only ones I never 100% completed... still haven't played GTA IV yet :( Hoping to buy a good motherboard and cpu at Goodwill soon, so I can play my hijacked version.

Ah, thank you kind sir, but I must admit I didn't complete the game to 100%, I have barely scraped the surface when it comes to unique jumps and rampages, and only gathered 53 hidden packages, but alas, the game is old and I find that such time-consuming tasks are better left undone in favor of the newer games, what matters is that I've relived the storyline, and explored the world till it seems to hold nothing more to savor. It's time to move on... to VC!

Been testing various mods for the game btw, installed a lot of CLEO plugins, an HD car pack, etc. I think I've pretty much browsed through all mods that exist, gathered together the ones that improve the game without really changing it (and without crashing the game), and as a final salute I'll be packing together the pack of mods + savegame and saving it for potential future nostalgia.. online. Will do the same with VC and SA eventually.

I haven't played GTA IV either, but I do have a new computer on the way right now that should be able to handle it. 8x3,1Ghz processor, 8GB RAM (32 max), Radeon GPU with 1GB memory... it might just be enough to run GTA V when that comes out too! :D What I'm even more hyped up about though is that I'll finally be able to run GTA SA on maximum settings. My current computer barely has a graphics card, it's more of an office computer (3GB RAM, 2x2,5Ghz, no visible graphic memory). I kept my old computer, from 2003, which runs 32-bit Win XP and thus also GTA 3 and VC (they don't work on 64-bit). It was a beast when it was bought, with a Pentium 4 3Ghz, 512MB RAM and a Radeon GPU with 128MB memory... but not quite enough for newer games. I used to play GTA SA a lot, and it only lagged a little on medium settings... but now! Woo! Yeah! This is going to be fun! :D

So, you've completed GTA 2, London 1969 and VC to 100%?

Dude :D I just listened to the rap "One Wish" Sounded amazing. I was wondering whether you'd want to collab sometime if you're free? I've really been in a Hiphop mood recently, but I can't rap top save my life XD You on the other hand have an amazing voice there :D Well done, Sir. You got yourself a new fan!

I'm definitely up for collabs! The One Wish rap was recorded on a whim, but I have a couple more on the way now. Do you have any specific beat/new beat in mind? Thanks. :)

Cool stuff :D I'll PM you about it. I'm still not sure exactly what I want to do, but your voice is too good to miss out on. Talk to you soon :D

Yupp, speak to you momentarily. :)

...you do have a nice singing voice :3 Nice to know another GTA addict.. totally forgot about London '69, the add-on pack, which seemed so boring in the 21st century, I never completed it. I was 2 or 3 missions away from completing the original, viscous good stuff that! Got that using CuteFTP and using that like we use torrents now. The first GTA game was so damn small (without the music), I gave that a try, before downloading GTA 2, which was a massive 140MB or so.. on dial-up AOL server. I'd call the local number, setup the DL, go to work, come home...still downloading, and I'd check Newgrounds along side of that, while listening to crappy 128kbs music.. the feedstock of the new file-sharing trend, though much of what I ripped, got taken out by Feds or simply never shared again (despite the quality).
Back then, the FTP sites were by ratio... you had to upload 3-10mb worth of music, just to get 1-2mb of music! That's how the old school geeks used to build databases chock full of goodness.. but they also had pre-internet, um, dubious files.. that dated back to the late 70's-80's, from mostly offline sharing (VHS and Beta cameras...). Almost historical stuff, but when the kiddy pron and snuff clips got into their banks of hard drives, Fed's said fair warning and hauled them all away, as they still do.
Sorry about the history lesson, but I doubt Wiki would mention that. Wasn't long after Wiki made it big, any and all the politically "contentious" articles, were rewritten daily... strange, since articles used to mostly just sit idle after a rewrite or two...

Thanks man, even though I can't sing. :)

I thought only the scene used FTP servers? Good times; I don't mind history lessons like this. I still stumble upon the occasional http directory with music, though such things are always a surprise to find now. GTA 1 & 2 are both free to download now btw, legally, if you didn't know: http://www.rockstargames.com/clas sics/

I remember getting introduced to GTA 1 in school, in computer class. Teacher introduced us to the game and a bunch of us stayed behind playing multiplayer on the network. I got the games myself later, both for PC and PSX, but I never did complete them. I was hooked for real first when the series moved onto 3D. Miss the hybrd top-down view you could use in GTA 3 though, you'd think they could include that in all GTA games just for the nostalgia. So, how about VC and SA? LC/VC Stories?

When words have meaning, the song is sweet.

Oh durr, correct, the isp was T3 about 25 miles away, that had phone accounts in several local towns... oh Gob, they still there! <a href="http://netrom.com/accounts.html">http://netrom.com/accounts.html</a> was a nice easy email address too :\ Yeah, they were personal servers, some mixed usage, other ISP's...

I'll be! An early LAN party player, cool on you! Are there any places to play legacy games? I think Twisted Metal 2 had something built in... was great on the PC! Carmageddeon would be neat... if you could get those old chestnuts to run, but, ah, you got that old game selling site to buy upgraded legacy games.... <a href="http://www.gog.com/">http://www.gog.com/</a> I'd love to play Freespace 2 online with others, especially with some wicked mods, like Babylon 5 gear!!

You mean... you were a member of the scene back then?! Maybe I should stop asking such things in the comment section... anyway, yeah, you can get Carmageddon on GOG. I only played a demo of the game a couple of years back, and I guess since I don't have any nostalgia to link to it didn't seem that much fun. Graphically it's pretty outdated, it's that kind of early 3D game that doesn't really stand the test of time IMO.

Indeed, LAN early and then never again, but it was fun. :) But hey, you still haven't said anything about VC, SA and LCS/VCS! Have you played those too?

VC, SA, beat the pants off them, especially SA... it's the only game I can play on this wretched laptop, though I never had the original PC disc.. the one where the Hot Coffee patch would work :( .
As far as the remakes they made for the PSP... yeah, beat both of them (not 100%), after they were ported to the PS2, which I still have buried in storage... They were decidedly kinda cheap and repetitive, but the price wasn't bad, so, down they went. Way too much Catalina in LCS....
One thing that's cool: I have all the paper maps for all the pre- GTAIV games, as well as a few copies.

Nice, same here, old stats if you're interested: http://www.thegtaplace.com/sastat s/index.php?user=cyberdevil

As for LCS/VCS, just bought those recently for a recently bought PS2. I sold the PS2 I had many years ago, before they were released, so now I bought a new one second-hand just to play those games, heh. First impressions... not that amazing. Maybe it'll get better once I manage to plug in keyboard and mouse, I'm really not used to console controls for this kind of game. It also feels they're using way too much bloom on the graphics.

Woo, me too! :D Though no multiple copies for any of them except GTA 1. I managed to get some kind of collectors edition of GTA VC and SA, the SA edition in the form of a book with the game disc in back. Pretty neat!

100% in GTA:SA, respect man! Those final races in Los Santos were a killer, especially the ones in the North of town. IDK if you can actually use the keyboard and mouse to play games on the PS2.. let alone the PS3. It's kinda a wussy thing, but it keeps everyone else just as inaccurate, I guess...

My PC copy of SA also had a book with a thing to stick the DVD on.. was the 2nd Edition. I still got my Bully kickball and cheapie comic book, from the Special Edition version.

Thanks. :) Not sure about the original PS2, but the slim version has two USB slots for just that. The real question is if It'll need a custom keyboard/mouse or if drivers for any Plug-n-play devices work...

Ah, so maybe it's not a Collectors edition then... it looked special! Same one? http://www.newgrounds.com/dump/it em/9b9b7fb976b68db553fee66b592e77 2f

Excellent shot! I always wanted a PC version of GTA III, especially the mods! Missing GTA 2, huh? Still happy with my under 200mb zip of GTA:VC, minus some cut scenes and audio... hm, maybe time to replay!

Oh, dude, we're on different parts of the planet, packaging's all different... but these look like first releases, which is way cooler! But.. have you ever run the Hot Coffee mod?

Ah, that could be arranged. Yeah, I don't have the material version of GTA 2... but is free to download. :) That's pretty tiny, but without audio! Alas, what a sacrifice. :O

Hehe, yeah, I've tried the Hot Coffee mod. There are better alternatives out now though. With CLEO, you can use plugins to mod the game without changing the original files, which is pretty useful. There's a worthy replacement of the Hot Coffee mod on this page: http://zazmahall.de/CLEOp2.htm

Partially related, I've been thinking of installing this ever since it came out: http://www.gtagarage.com/mods/sho w.php?id=1194

Shame it'd require a new save file though. That defeats the purpose of the mod a bit IMO, I wouldn't want to replay the game just so I can keep playing it forever...

Holy Modifuckers Batman, those are some awesome links!! I played SA sooo many times, and now there's a big list of mods? A few years ago (when I was scavenging internet access once a week), I found a few of these mod sites, but nothing seemed to be worth the effort... the best mods, would be the ones with new missions, otherwise, YouTube footage of the new pretty things would've been enough....

That 'Things To Do' mod really is something, though it's not very compatible with other mods. :) If you're looking for graphical enhancement mods btw, SRT3 and ENB Series are worth checking out. There really is a huuuge community of modders surrounding GTA SA, I wonder if it'll be the same thing with GTA 5.

Nah, can't do much more graphics on 10 y/o gear, but Things to do list is worth a shot from the get-go!
Heh, can't wait to upload my SA stats.. but I played it through well over 50 times since it came out, on both the PS2 and PC!

Yeah, SRT3 was a bit too much for my old computer too. Lagged hellishly, and ENB Series wasn't even supported by the GPU. There is one graphical enhancement that works fine on lower-end systems though: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.ph p?showtopic=456536. My new computer arrived yesterday btw, but it appears something broke along the way, I plugged in screen/keyboard/etc but nothing happens, the fans are whirring, lights are shining, northing's bleeping... don't know what the problem could be. Tried checking the cables, removing the RAM and plugging it back in... not sure what else to try. Might drive in to computer repair tomorrow and hope for a quick solution, f I start digging too much I fear I'll short circuit something.

Do you have any savefiles saved? If you're thinking of uploading a save after playing the 'Things to do' mod it probably won't work, since it adds a lot of features/stats along the way.

Nothing? Maybe the new HD isn't formatted, does power go to the DVD? ...nothing sucks :| I guess after you pour over the MB manual, and check everything... not much else to do, especially if the MB isn't in lockdown mode (a bad plugged in component would produce a red light or no activity at all, right?) You could test the components on another PC, just to see if they register with the MB.... but I suspect you know about as much as I do regarding PC's....

The only PC gamesaves I have are for the glitchy GTA2 and SA... the rest are on PS2 memory cards.

The HD sounds OK, and Win 7 Ultimate should already be installed on it... but even if it wasn't, the BIOS should boot first. It sounds like everything starts up, but it just doesn't connect to any devices. No CD/DVD drive installed yet btw, that's the one thing this beast is missing. :) I hope the processor didn't get damaged though... can't / don't want to check that without some ESD bracelet or something, I hear it's pretty sensitive. All the RAM is located beneath a couple of fans and a really thick cooler, so I haven't tested them seperately, just plugged them out/in at in case they weren't sitting correct.

I don't have any PC that could handle any of the components on this one (unless I migrate the motherboard as well, which it seems would defeat the purpose of that). What I do know is this: all five fans are working fine, the fan control is working fine, there's a green light glowing on the motherboard (which I assume is a good thing), the fan on the GPU is spinning and the HD hums like it should. Also, nothing wrong with the PSU. I'm not too high on hardware though, I might have missed something really basic..

GTA SA is the only save you can upload anyway (to that stat-site), so that's just perfect! :) Now if someone makes a program that can combine GTA SA savefiles, my alternative life would be complete!
