is this a new page: https://cyberdevil.newgrounds.com/news/comments/1219847
you have to first view the newspost though. Otherwise it redirects to /news/post/

Interesting! Never tried opening comments in a new tab either... pretty cool how you can still find 'secrets' with this place...

nvm its been there since they changed the layout lol. just never thought to right click open the comments on a new page until now lol

What else might I have missed hmm... gotta go explore the site in full again some time, been a while. Random somewhat new changes you might not be aware of:

- The medal section on game pages now opens in a lightbox.
- The /reviews/flash/ links that used to collectively show both game and move reviews now just redirect to the main /reviews page
- You can still reach the old layout via Calender and gameswithmedals

Yeah I just used this one with the 'subscript' alternative, seemed most interesting, though seems it has some unsupported characters too: https://lingojam.com/TinyTextGenerator

Wooah that's interesting... and it seems there are two levels to those pages too, for example on one of the reactions here below:

Approximately
27,108,156 BBS posts made
14,871,935 reviews written (all portals)

How?! BBS post total's listed (if it's correct on main forum page - seems to differ from count above?) but review total?!

Is there still a stats page floating around somewhere here?

these are posts/reviews -ever- made. It doesn't account for the deleted content. Assuming that's how the BBS total is listed.

Ahh by the IDs, got it. Didn't think reviews would be that close to BBS posts...

the count doesnt decrement upon deletes, i mean

Right. A bit like the comment ID thing on my blog, if ya remember. To think I never considered counting the all-time total like that... is it possible to view reviews/posts individually somehow, via links you could generate lists of? Total index/scrape/calculation potential if so. The individual post links on the BBS don't make that so easy though the way they're meshed with topics...

The certainty of punishment is a more powerful deterrent than the severity of punishment.

I got 2 replies:
1. "That's why I don't cheat on my taxes." - @olskoo
2. "True." - A person that I met on discord.

I think so too, though the severity would at least have to be at a level at which it's perceived as a threat regardless. Would be ideal if you could find the ideal level where it statistically works as a deterrent for the majority.

@20-Wikipedia what about

The certainty of a reward is a more powerful incentive than the value of the reward.

Politics in a nutshell...

how so?

Well, politicians in a nutshell, maybe more properly purported.

Great promises of great rewards with great certainty pre election.

Little value to said promise or potential reward post.

Now that I'm writing though I'm realizing it ought to be the opposite if we just all had half a brain. No certainty of reward at all really.

what about the promise of "I may not do what I say I will do but I promise I won't do what my opponent says they will do"

well what good would a politician be with limited confidence..."I'll try my best but no promises". Hell I'd vote for that kinda honesty. I think most people wouldn't.

Sounds better than no promise. XD Then again I wouldn't be convinced they'd really follow through with that either, these days it doesn't seem there's any major ideological differences from one side to the other; if they don't follow through on THEIR promise then wouldn't they be doing the opposite of what they promised to do? Which with opposing ideologies might be just the thing the other party promised? or maybe you mean having that kind of promise would imply they'd be all the more held to it? Or that you could vote for the opposite party to actually fulfill the promise you wanted fulfilled? This assuming said promises would all be based on ideological standpoints and/or opposing views.

I'd definitely prefer that second kind of person. Honesty over all. Also don't think a lot of people would if they phrased it like that, but what if they just chose their words a bit wiser? "I have a dream..." "I want the world to..." "I believe..."

Could showcase great conviction and confidence without falsehood. That's the kind of leaders I wish we had.

Hey. How are things?

Pretty good AM22! :) How 'bout you?

early morning?

...eight hours ago? Yupp. Early by my standards at least. :)

Dropped in just to catch the latest B/P real quick but for some reason neither Portal nor UJ sections were updating for me. Had to generate a list of links via ID and vote that way... kinda weird! Stayed that way for a few hours but only on a session/after I logged in. No BBS stuff about it. Was starting to think they might've imposed some kinda account-based restrictions...

holy sh*t it's SethSkoda

That's the one! The one and only! The soulful/holy!

I beat AdvancedWars btw
gotta say, it was hella addicting at first. Some of the last battles were just too long though
now to go through the extras...

Dope! Congrats man. How long runtime on the campaign?

If you play the game enough you unlock some arbitrary Easter eggs too. But that does take a while...

@20-Wikipedia my notifications don't work sometimes

Been having some weird issues with the portal and favorites feed myself, they just don't update like they're supposed to. Strange quirks...

Hello cyberdevil
