@ADR3-N I mean just don't like producing stuff myself. Love production. Gotta clarify.

@ADR3-N And wondering if anybody actually does, or if it's just a necessary evil that yields awesome result. So in the end it was worth the effort.

@AudioMachina22 @Cyberdevil @Cyberdevil Maybe it does... lol. It does, just searched for it on google. But it's not used with WHERE. SQL uses multiple syntaxes.

I'll make a shot! Hope you do the same

Hah. XD I'm gonna have to start reading up on this too, getting curious now...

I'll take a shot to that! each and buckthorn! Cheers!

@Cyberdevil yeah absolutely, I go through periods of time where I just can't. Months and months sometimes. Then I have a eureka moment. Currently I'm in writers block mode. That's why I say throw me some lyrics and I'll mix it in on a beat LOL. It might inspire me to make a new one ofc but I'm so brain dead! I think it's stress related to politics and work tbh

Good to hear it's like that even for the pros! But do you normally like writing more than producing stuff? Does it come and go? Sometimes one sometimes the other? Was thinking maybe when you get good enough it's just way more fun with any aspect of it all. But either way this is perfect timing. Got a beat selected, seeing if I can write up something for tomorrow maybe...

Yeah the world's been on edge too long now. Starts digging into your feet a bit. Either we'll grow thicker soles or lose control and off we go... fortunately, personally, the more stress manifests the more I just want to write it out. :) Would be a nightmare to get writer's block at a time like this.

@AudioMachina22 @AudioMachina22 Peach, if twasn't clear enough. Skipping a lot etters ately omehow...

@AudioMachina22 @Cyberdevil @Cyberdevil http://monstercat.ddns.net/downloads/Alan_Beaulieu-Learning_SQL-EN.pdf I'm gonna read this one. If you're interested, take a look.

That is my server domain btw. I'm running apache on this PC.

Ah nice, I'll save it for later, thanks. Hmm the numbers/patterns on the second and third page... can they be deciphered? Or just random?

Thought about running a server via home a long time, but actually having the computer on the whole time's a problem. Other peeps won't allow it, and even if they did I wonder about overheating... what kind of computer are you using for this? How long have you been running it?

@AudioMachina22 @Cyberdevil @Cyberdevil I bought this (the server) PC back in 2013. It still runs many new games on high settings, and it's decently fast. I love it. Doesn't beat my new PC though... by far. Both have i7's.

But yeah, running your own server is a completely different feeling. And yeah, that it's running 24/7 can be a bit noisy. If the PC has decent cooling, temperature shouldn't be a problem. As long as it stays below 45C or close to it. (while idle)

Hmm but if something breaks? The PSUl CPU, something else? I know you can definitely use any regular computer as a server, but it seems legit servers are built a bit differently. SAS drives, smaller fans, no GPU or similar, seems they're made specifically for long runtime. But as long as it works!

If you're running a gaming computer as a server I imagine the electricity bill might jump a bit though, might be the one downside. :) Apart from noise, and that inevitable wear and tear....

@AudioMachina22 @Cyberdevil @Cyberdevil It's an ASUS btw.

Nice. :)

@AudioMachina22 @Cyberdevil @Cyberdevil Good to know. I don't mind these problems for now though, I'm using the old PC as a server since that's all I have.

Alright, hope it goes well! If you're ever looking for something external there's a lot of cheap VPS offers out there too, if I knew my way around commandline I'd probably be using one of these: https://lowendbox.com/

So much cheaper than shared hosting, but home computer... maybe the cheapest option after all.

*thumbs*

@AudioMachina22 @Cyberdevil @Cyberdevil Do you also have two computers?

I think I have... fourteen? Currently use one for gaming and this one for everything else, though it's over ten years old and getting a bit slow. Thing is it has a firewire post, which I need for my audio stuff, but the plan is to swap it for one of the others soon...

The others: two old Mac computers, an old Compaq with XP, three smaller laptops, a couple potential replacements I bought recently and four smaller mini PC types. I've been occasionally bidding on them via Tradera and right now I have a bit too many really... finna sell a few soon too.

The mini ones could potentially make for pretty good servers, was thinking about that when you posted about yours. Though I'd need some different living conditions.

@AudioMachina22 @Cyberdevil @Cyberdevil You have many PCs! I've only owned 6 during my lifetime.

Thing is I just can't get myself to throw any of the old ones away. :) When they're still working too... haven't had one break down on me yet, just had to switch out the PSU a couple times; upgrade RAM when they start getting slower.

@AudioMachina22 @Cyberdevil @Cyberdevil So you still use all these computers? Neat...

Hmm, well, the last year or so I've only used my main one and my gaming one, no time, but I do still occasionally boot up my old Mac Performa 720 just for some old gaming nostalgia. :) Lots of small and fun multiplayer hotseat games too, where you get half a keyboard each and battle each other. It's impressive how well some of that old stuff still holds up! It wasn't as graphical, but so well-built. Creative. Fun. Feels like the joy of making games died down a bit since.

As for the others: one's a Power Mac, just slightly newer than my Performa, which I bought planning to play games that I had for the Performa that it couldn't really handle. It was used in a TV studio and the RAM/GPU is really impressive for its time, a few hundred MB. :P But I haven't gotten around to doing anything with that one either. Then there's our old family computer, A Compaq Presario with Windows XP, that was a real beast at the time we bought it around 2003. Not so impressive specs now but I'm keeping it for anything XP related. Potential gaming nostalgia that's not supported on the newer computers. Plus any 32-bit stuff, as everything I have past that is 65-bit.

The three laptops are mainly for travel, and as for the rest: potential replacement computers and ones I bought since I really liked the model. Running out of space though so I do need to sell a few of those...

Do you keep anything for nostalgia yourself?

@AudioMachina22 @Cyberdevil @Cyberdevil I like to switch PC's. It brings me joy somehow.

Mmm, I like the feeling when you upgrade after you haven't in a long time, everything suddenly lightning fast. :) But I'm a really habitual person otherwise. Don't like letting go of what I'm used to.

@AudioMachina22 @Cyberdevil @Cyberdevil Yes. I have that drawing left... it's at my moms. That drawing with the mountain and a rainbow around it.

Hmm? Something we were speaking about earlier?

@AudioMachina22 @Cyberdevil @Cyberdevil No, that art piece on my Mohabot account.

Ah how did I miss this notification! Hope I didn't skip any other parallel convos that same day... good to know. Still not sure how we got into the topic of art though. :)

@AudioMachina22 @Cyberdevil @Cyberdevil Nvm. How's Inktober going?

Feeling like I should be more on top of my game on certain days, but still going at least. :) Might make it all the way...

@AudioMachina22 @Cyberdevil @Cyberdevil Ah IC. I'm still not feeling so well, so everything for me is on delay... so many things I wanna get started on, gahhh.

Ah man, hope you get better. Sometimes you just need to force things to distract yourself too. Whatever works for you though! Maybe not! Maybe rest is the real requirement.

@AudioMachina22 @Cyberdevil @Cyberdevil Btw, you don't like meat?

I probably would but I'm pescatarian, just eat fish. :) Been that way since I was 2 y/o. as far as I know I've only accidentally tasted chicken and beef jerky so far (thought it was dried banana)...
